Open/save Dialog Always Is Thumb View

alo,

like the title says, everytime i go to save something to or open something from my pictures folder, the dialog is always thumbnail view... it's only in these dialogs, if i just open up win explorer, it's default is details view. anyone know if there is a way (registry?) to have the open/save dialogs to always have the details view?

thanks much

what happens if you change it manually through the right click option? does it revert after a reboot or something?

I have the same "problem"

let me try to clarify....

if i go to save a picture to my desktop, the save dialog is in details view, (which i applied to all folders in windows explorer, 'folder options')... if i navigate through my hard drives to the folder i setup as "my pictures" (f:\pictures) in the save dialog, it always shows in the thumbnail view in that folder (and all subfolders). while in the save dialog, i can change it to another view, and then save whatever it is... if i go to save the same thing immediately, it reverts back to thumbnail view again...

sigh... it's only a problem because sometimes it takes a while for it to generate the thumbnails.

when did this start happening?

i wonder what controls the open/save dialog view settings. if it works like a folder, you can reset all your folder settings.

wookietv,

Have you tried changing the folder type in the View/Customize this Folder... dialog to "Documents (for any file type)"?
