[help]open A .dmg-file On A Computer

Is there any program that can open .DMG-files on a computer? I have searched, but found no answer

I dont have a mac, and i havent got any friends with a mac either, so theres no way i can open it on a mac

The question is not "can you do it" the question is. WHY?

Bendik you need a program called TransMac, you can find it here.

The thing is it only works with some dmgs

@ji eun - I never managed to open a DMG file with theWindows version of Stuffit. Perhaps the Mac version can turn bundles into .sit files, but you'd need a Mac, too.

@spngbb - This tool only seems to read complete disk images, e.g. floppies and CD-ROMs. Did you ever manage to open a DMG file with it? If you'd send me that sample, I'd be pleased to reverse engineer around it.

Although reverse engineering seems impossible.

Even the Linux gurus don't have a decent solution for that.

In short, there are some closed source compression / decompression codecs in it, that won't even be released for Darwin, the open source variant of Mac OS.

darwin is just the kernel, it'd doesn't have a single thing to do with what someone would call Mac OS X, or any program it runs...

Thanks for all the replys , but the Transmac program dont seem to work for my .DMG file. I want to open a safari-file, cause I thought I could get some resources out of it. Is it possible for me to get rescources out of it if i manage to open the .DMG-file?

No, i would but i dont want to spend my money on internet gaming I dont think it is fair to pay 10$ for one month of gaming, even if it is a Star Wars game
