The question is not "can you do it" the question is. WHY?

So you can try to find another program to open the .app with?

i'm confused ):

EDITPS: noticed your signature, you play Galaxies?

you could possibly talk to one of the many poeple here with macs... they are pretty nice people and if you ask them nicely they might help you

does stuffit for xp not handle .dmg? i thought it did

Bendik you need a program called TransMac, you can find it here.

The thing is it only works with some dmgs :(

@deleted - Why? For example for porting Konfabulator widgets to samurize!

@ji eun - I never managed to open a DMG file with theWindows version of Stuffit. Perhaps the Mac version can turn bundles into .sit files, but you'd need a Mac, too.

@spngbb - This tool only seems to read complete disk images, e.g. floppies and CD-ROMs. Did you ever manage to open a DMG file with it? If you'd send me that sample, I'd be pleased to reverse engineer around it.

yea Ive opened some dmgs with it.

You want me to send you one that I can open?

Spngbb: Sure.

Although reverse engineering seems impossible.

Even the Linux gurus don't have a decent solution for that. :(

In short, there are some closed source compression / decompression codecs in it, that won't even be released for Darwin, the open source variant of Mac OS.

darwin is just the kernel, it'd doesn't have a single thing to do with what someone would call Mac OS X, or any program it runs...

Thanks for all the replys :), but the Transmac program dont seem to work for my .DMG file. I want to open a safari-file, cause I thought I could get some resources out of it. Is it possible for me to get rescources out of it if i manage to open the .DMG-file?

No, i would but i dont want to spend my money on internet gaming ;) I dont think it is fair to pay 10$ for one month of gaming, even if it is a Star Wars game :)
