Genie Effect 1st

Hi ho

i told a friend of mine about the genie effect - and how cool it would be to have it on windows xp.

After 30 minutes he got that piece of software:

http://www.slow-backward.de/container/genieeffect.zip

Its a -not really accurate- not even bug free not even really working version of the genie effect... but its in source; and its fast... - anyway you coders could take it an make something usable out of it...

wow...

cant wait to try it out :D

if thats going to look like what i think it is, then ill be really really happy.

well, it's something to work from

It genies up though, since my taskbar is, well, up

It also makes my dock disappear for a second when it it genie-ing

but it is nice and smooth, and if integrated into a dock would be amazing

wow thats hardcore... but for somreason the window disapears for a second.. and then gets sucked down.. its a wicked start

well i see that you understand my intension - its just a basis to start working from

finally it has to be integrated into the docks; so - dock coders; take this and put it in

Beautiful. Obviously its not done, but the potential is amazing, with some tweaking, it can be a perfect Genie clone. I am very exited about this.

I hope this is going to be a free product.

I guess it shows potential...it makes anything on my desktop using transparency (DuMeter, Stickies, ObjectDock)disappear for a couple seconds though.

Great start! Let's see who can expand on it?!

#11234

it takes a lot to make the effect, it need to be perfected, since it freezes the mouse, plus it takes some time, the actual one is faster. However, it is a good try.

so, how about an open source dock for this to be coded into? :D (unlikely, i know. but can we get some acknowledgement of this thread by a dock coder?)

it could be much faster; there is optimization potential; - and the freezing could also be solved...

Well I have the magnification effect for a visual basic dock. If we all put our hands together maybe we could all get started on writing an open-source dock. BTW: I didn't make the magnification.
