What Is Wrong With My Pc?!

Can somebody help me please?

My computer has gone "psycho". Every minute and a half or so,it's acting up.For example: If I'm surfing the internet,every two minutes it will slow down,my CPU will go nuts,or if the radio is on online or Windows Media Player is playing,the song sounds like "a broken record". What is going on?

I scanned my PC for viruses(don't have any)and also for spyware which have been removed,but the problem is still here.

The only application not affected by this is iTunes.

Actually, i've had this happen many moons ago and it was do to overheating. My suggestion is open up you girlfriend, wait, i mean PC and check the fans.

After you check for overheating and everything looks fine and dandy. Format the thing and get back to us. Iff all esle fails, A fresh install of XP is like a fresh pair of underwear after being stuck in the amazon for a month.

More than likely it's a hardware problem then. To be 100% you'd have to format again and if the problem arises... well, now you know you have a hardware issue.

And if it happens to be an hardware issue,what should I do then?

Plus,I know for a fact that Memorex DVD-R's messed up my DVD drive(it comes with a warning but it doesn't mention VAIO computers).

I still beleive it's a issue with overheating, make sure all your fans are running. You could google for this program "motherboar monitor," don't worry it's free. Once you install that you can find out what temp your computer is at and you can post it here and someone will tell you if it's too high.

OK thanks,I will try to do that.Everything is backed up on CD's so I might just reinstall it again.What I'm afraid is that I just got my registration key for StyleXP software,and I'm afraid that it might not work after I reinstall the whole thing.

Your key should work... I beleive their registration lasts for a year. I may be wrong for I have never used the program.

should i be concerned that moth. monitor says my case/cpu are -198 deg. F? that's approx. the moon's temperature at night. that just doesn't seem possible. <_

1. check your task manager and see what's going on.

2. scan for viruses/spyware again, just to make sure.

3. try a system restore if this just started happening.

4. try and pinpoint the problem by closing apps one by one and testing each.

5. throw out stylexp and use the uxtheme patch

6. check temps (as mentioned).

7. run diagnostic tests on hardware.
