Is it worth getting Trillian? Almost everyone I know uses Aim my only reason would be the ichat skin. How well does Trillian work with the Aol network? Any help would be great THanks.
Trillian Vs Aim
Why don't you try it and see how you feel about Trillian? ![]()
And to answer your question, "How does it work with the AIM nework?", It...err...works.
and "Is it worth getting Trillian"...It's a relatively small file
It's not worth the price. Nothing really especial about it but the themes.
unless you know people on multiple networks, msn, aol, icq, yahoo, irc...
otherwise, if you know only people on aol, just get aim and you're fine.
Cleaned up warez posts.
You may also want to look at GAIM (gaim.sourceforge.net), it's free and connects to multiple networks. It's skinnable, but not as much as Trillian.
try the free version of Trillian to see if you like it. Then decided if you want to buy it, keep the free one or move to something else.
its worth the price if its free :naughty:
miranda is another open-source app that is extremely versatile. i liked it so much that i ditched trillian.
you can get it here: http://miranda-im.org/
it doesn't support skinning, but it's so configurable that it's flexibility far surpasses that of trillian, and its modularity means that it's small, but customizable.
regarding trillian, you'll just have to try it out. it works well with aim, and i find it better than aim itself, but probably not worth shelling out $25, at least for me. its value is up to you to determine. miranda has everything i need, and more. ![]()

i have that and it doesnt look like ichat at all(if the author of that skin reads this you did a good job working within the confinds of aim)...just some prety graphics. But anyway now I have Trillian with a beautiful ichat skin.
