Painting Ipod Style

Hey there all, *gives a HUGE wave*

I decided I wanted to paint my p800 since it doesn't look as cool as my p900, so then I decided that what better to paint it than iPod style!

But how can I do that?

Any suggestions? I want to get the white with the see through glossy plastic style.

If you know of any online order sites that would help too.

I painted my PC case and it was quite easy. Krylon has a paint out that adheres to plastic (Krylon Fusion). They have a limited number of colors but I have found that if you follow their directions and your second and third coats of paint can be from their standard paint and colors. The adhesion is fantastic. I painted my system quite some time ago with no sanding. I highly recomend It seems like the link does not work. cool website, but something about painting over the original product kinda sketches me out. if they were replacement housings that would make some sense, but i guess i'd have to see the actual quality of the work to trust my ipod to (essentially) spraypaint.

i like the iPod in it's regular form, but the console systems look AMAZING in the the ferrari red and smoke colours.

Don't think it can be done. iPod paint is essentially regular white paint applied to the inside of a plastic shell.

You'd probably be best getting a replacement shell for your P800 made out of clear plastic, and painting the inside white...

Then you could do the same with the buttons, but paint the numbers on first, so they show through.

Either that, or high-gloss white paint, to acheive a similar (although less stunning) effect

lol well I sent a message to that colorwarepc.com that Carbonfibre suggested and they didn't do mobilephone cases.

Thats a very good idea Stevie but the P800 doesn't have many cases, either the original one, which is ugly as hell, or an imitation which is cheap and flimsy.

I was thinking more along the lines of just imitating the look with perhaps a suggested paint and enamel-type paint to give the plastic look.
