To help keep track of your banking expenses.
There was an app like this that was started by someone in the past but it never got released and I wanted it so that should be cleared up soon. 
I'll release a beta candidate on Thursday sometime if anyone wants to help me test it. Right now its just using your visual style as a skin, but i'm adding support for skins.
Any ideas thoughts suggestions?
Using visual styles is perfect. I forgot all about this program. PixelMatrix (I think) was having a heck of time working on the program. I'm still up for a nice small expense keeping program.

Not to DIS coders, as I never code and don't care to..
but.. how hard is it to make that app? Load vb, create a form. That's the hardest part.
Create numeric variable, store it. Then just add or subtract from it. I'd think even someone who'd only owned VB 3 hours and had access to the internet for reference could to it.
Again, not trying to say I'm not glad guy made this, just curious how the other guy quit because it was so "hard".

Suggestions:
1.- Put the addition and subtraction buttons on the right hand side, it seems very distracting to have information about the current operation in the middle of the visual path between the button and the financial entries.
2.- Put a nice icon to the app for God's sake, you do have the talent

And youve got to be able to save/load the data. It all sounds easy once you get down and dirty with it. Im shure pixelmatrix didnt just quit because he coulnt do it, im shure he completly forgot about it.

Yeah this program is really easy, I'll show the other one thats been slowing me down if you'd like. Oh yeah, I'm also going to release for Mac and PC at the same time, lovin for all 
I remember hearing about this, another X-File app.

I'll test it out - I needed something like this because I didn't really want to use MS Money. Is that a screenshot of the program? It looks ultra-simple.
Will it show totals and statistics easily and in plain sight or will it only be the separate entries? What about titles and descriptions and dates?
I think i may make the buttons much smaller and stack them on the right. Any thoughts?

A couple ideas for the future:
Users
------
Ability to keep separate entries of purchases for each user and then merge them to show statistics, totals, etc. Would be useful for a joint bank/checking/credit account.
Books
-------
Like users, separate books for "Checking/Debit," "Banking" and "Credit." Books can be viewed separately. Users can set deposit entries (as well as withdrawls) to easily view the total balance, total amount spent, amount spent in a particular month, etc. The books should be able to be merged in an "All" category to show total figures, balances and transactions at a glance.

I can't tell if in that screenshot, deposits are in blue and withdrawls are in white, but it should certainly be color-coded like that.

Also a filterable/sortable function. Would allow entries to be filtered by user-set categories such as "Pay Check," "Food," "Phone Bill," etc.
Check Box

Much like the check box in iTunes which can be used for a number of purposes, a checkbox next to each entry could be used to show any of the following depending on the user's choice:
- Verfied transaction (shows up on billing statement)
- Has been issued (unchecked boxes = waiting to be done)
Name suggestions (feel free to stick an "i" in front of any of these):

Wallet
Teller

Another feature request I forgot:
Optional Password Protection

Asks for a password when the program is started. Could be used in tandom with user accounts (user name/password box).
I was actually thinking about password protection pretty soon, but I wasn't sure if anyone would want it. My screwy idea was for a musical password, ie.. you play notes as the password. Thats just how I am but I digress...
I will definitely add support for multiple accounts and users if you guys want it. I just want to keep the interface as clean as possible. I'll probly jsut put some tabs at the top.

i want this app badly.. it would be very nice..
can you add a feature to save it to a text file... and the open it up again and continue adding to it? other then that, it would be nice to have an expandable calculator with basic functions attached.. that when you click on a button, the calc is expanded. or you could just shortcut to the ms calc..
but it's a great idea and a great program.. i can't wait to have it.
@flarex: Something similar to VB but not quite VB and its all developed in a demo version. I'm going to scrounge up some cash so I can pay to get the standard version of the software for $200, which is quite reasonable. Just not wanting to dip into my powerbook fund which is almost complete. 
Name - How about just plain Finance? No "i", just simple.
How about Excelite?
It's like Excel, only much lighter
Oh, FYI, I do this sort of thing in Excel - nothing else has the same sort of power that you can get with a good macro
