[request] un-hide dock with keyboard shortcut

how about creating a hotkey shortcut that will make the dock appear instantly above all other windows, even if the mouse is not hovering over it ? I think it may be useful for dock autohiders like me...

to all developers out there ....

my dock is set to autohide, much like many other people.

sometimes I want it to show quickly with a hotkey and not move my mouse there , to see the sysstats docklet etc., not launch a shortcut, (that's why I mentioned andreasV and Judge). Is it possible to add a system hotkey that will just make the dock appear ?

examples : I'm rendering now a big scene , 5000X3750 pixels resolution. but wait, it's been a while since I started and no results yet. maybe if I press my HOTKEY I'll see the CPU docklet instead of moving my mouse, waiting for OD to show, roll to the docklet.... that's the idea. thanx !
