Naw - they are all gone . Even after we were very supportive in his effort to stop the Pirate Company from stealing his work . He has left quite a Icon void even though some people would pay him to do what he does - Go figure . Wacky world eh?
Like Seph, I managed to find some of his older sets buried deep in the Resexcellence icon archive. That was a few weeks ago, they're probably still there. But any of his later stuff is certainly gone. Totally sux. Icon legend Hein: :missing:

RANT AHEAD, PLEASE ONLY READ IF YOU WANT MY OPINION OF THE MATTER
I'm sick of this. Hein, wherever you are I hope that you are reading this. Lets recap quickly for all those that are unaware of this situation. A software company used Heins Icons without his persmission and gave him nothing but greif when he asked them to remove the icons, so he quite the icon making buisness. He was known for being strict regarding theporting of his icons.
Now, on to business. The more I think about this situation, the more it pisses me off. Hein for months before this was threating to leave because "windows users" were using his icons, bah. So he came here and raised hell about it. We apologized, and convinced him that no harm was intended. Then the software company thing happens, again he comes here and raises hell about it promises all of us ports of his icons if we help him. So the tight nit community we are, we send emails to this company, well at first they say they are not removing the icons because they were "free on the internet". We continued our onslaught of emails and pestering this company until they finally remove the icons. Hein Leaves the icon scene anyway. Closes down his site and we are all out a great icon artist.
Now to the *****ing. I'm glad he is gone. First of all, if you are an artist (which I am) you know damn well when you put stuff on the net, it is going to get stolen, modified and reused to the nth degree. If you don;t know this, you need to never upload a single thing to the web that you hold value to. So what should you do? Well copyright law is your freind. Fair use is Fair use. When I search the web for someone using my stuff without giving me credit and I actually find something, its like christmas. If I find a big wig, using my stuff its like winning the lottery. Hein had himself a nice case against this software company no matter what friggin cheese eating surender monkey country they live in. Fair use does not ever include the right to use things for financial gain, which this company did. What did Hein do, he punishes his followers for some frogs stealing his work. BAH.
Personally I think He was ithcing to leave, and was just waiting for the right oppurtunity to make his exit. Think about it, How often do you visit his site waiting for it to reopen? He will be back, and charging for his icons, because of the hype following him. This is Marketing my freinds. Always has been and Always will be. Hein, be a man sue the company and put your site back up!!!
Don't forget the ultimate irony. After all his ranting about 'thieving' Windows users, the software company which used his icons without consent produces... that's right, Mac software. I know, it's irrelevant, but an interesting footnote nevertheless.

anyhow, you won't catch me buying hein's icons if he decides to charge for it, or any icons for that matter.
while his icons were great, i'm sure there are icons just as good or better for free.

As for ripping. It's sad, but I've seen my walls and icons all over the place with people thanking and praising other people.
Usually I just register, call that person a ripper, and he's kicked off the scene, but there are the few odd occassions where people just dont care.
It's sad.
I wish there was a watermark ability by default on images.
Hopefully the next windows will alow that? Or perhaps to add watermarks later on?
Only time will tell.

He didn't release that set he only released the harddrives to it.
