hey guys, i have a? whenever i try to view a webpage with a java applet, my browser [ explorer & firefox ] close. i click on the link to view it, and then the browser closes. has anyone had this problem before? and is there a solution. i've already tried reinstalling java and the browsers, but it doesn't seem to help. thx

Have you tried investigating the Java Console?
When you get the Java tray icon appear, right click and "view console" - it should give you a list of the errors that have occurred, if they're related to your VM...
Oh, and this is assuming you're using the Sun VM - the MS one isn't supported anymore, remember...
when i try to download the java vm, i click on Get It Now " Free Download " it closes the browser.

oh and it doesn't give me any errors in the console
