Some Help With All These Cool Stuff

hi all! Can some one give me a hand with some questions? I am new to this forum and XP skinning for that matter, and even though I tried to search for the relevant info I think a little help would go a long way.

I was using Iceman's files and theme (replacing system files one by one) before I found this forum. Here, I've seen some amazing screen captures that even have the mac tool bar in place. Is that part of the aqua apps? What exactly are these aqua apps? I found Flyakite's installation file and that was awesome, no more replacing system files manually! But the sheer amount of info on this board is a little overwhelming to be honest. My goal is to have the desktops shown in all these fabulous screen captures.

dock - Object Dock

mac like finder bar - CRNI object bar theme

widgets on desktop - samurize, avedesk or desktop x

the aqua aps are no longer in circulation there are some alternatives look for tig's finder soon!

rainlender moderna for calendar on desktop

stickies 4.5 for a mac sticky like program

safari skin for firefox

bzfinder by okeh

windowblinds from stardock.com to get the buttons on the left

i cant tell you where to find all of them other than search the forums using key words. PM me if I can be of any help.

People on these boards do this as a hobby which often borders on obsession.

There is a steep learning curve, but you have to be a risk-taker, so back up your stuff before doing anything drastic like applying flyakite's system-wide mod packs, and be prepared for the bsod. :robbery:

well, yeah, it's a learning curve and the better you get the fewer the BSODs are becoming. personally I have BSODs because of hacked ATI drivers, but not because of system modding. but you're right, BACK YOUR STUFF UP! yah, backup, right. uuhm... yah... $.02
