Why Winamp Is So Stupid And Kills Itself

This really annoys me, i'm using winamp 5.0 or 5.01 can't even look which version because it instantly kills itself after opening because there is no music added in the playlist.

So what can i do now? I looked through the winamp.ini file but didn't find anything, is there an option to turn this "behavior" off? I can't believe that this was designed this way or is this problem not caused by winamp?

I noticed this behaviour, too. But this time it's not Nullsofts fault, Samurize's Winamp-plugin causes it (or CRNI's CDCover-script). As soon as I close the CDCover script, WinAmp doesn't crash with an empty playlist...

Well, since u can't figure the problem out, because it shuts down before u can do that, why don't u try unistalling, downloading a new copy, and installing again? ;)

If that don't work, then like the dude above me, turn off samurize, add a song to your playlist, then turn on samurize again. ;)

BTW, <_< don't diss winamp , i like it as i'm sure other people do too.

Is this happens when you are running some scripts from samurize which related to winamp? I have same experience on that, I think that it is caused by samurize script.

try foobar2000 with foo_remote :naughty:

#127811

thx for the answers, when I close all samurize instances winamp don't closes with an empty playlist, strange it happens because of samurize or the samurize remote for samurize.

and i wasn't to diss winamp, i just thought it's really stupid to design a program like that, so it wasn't the fault of winamp, so i apologie @winmap and all friends of winamp ;)

there is also a way to bypass the problem that winamp instantly closes itself with an empty playlist, just rightklick a song and choose play in winamp (just found out).

technic can be tricky >.<

I would suggest redirecting it to the Depression counseling section of aqua-soft, Dr. Duckie will treat him.
