Does anyone know how to turn off the titlebar animation when you min/max a window. You know, where the titlebar shrinks/expands to/from the taskbar?

Getting Rid Of Minimize/maximize Animation
right click my computer. Theres a button for system performance or something and you can remove shadows, fading etc.. I think max min animation is included..
control panel-performance and maintenance-adjust visual effects

Does anyone know how to get rid of the dotted line border that IE puts around links when you click on them?

Here's how to do it:
Go to Properties>Appearance>Effects - Disable '..underline...' whatever. Hope it works. Been a while since I have sat on a PC

That dotted Line CANT be removed. Its hardwired into the OS, unfortunatly! Believe me, ive been researching it for a very long time.
Im still looking though, if I find anything, ill tell you, unfortunatly, there is no official name for it, so searching is a pain.
yes it is possible because it is not on mine anymore and I know that I have gotten rid of it. Try this.. display properties > apperance > effects > hide underlined......
this might already be turned on and you still have the lines, so what i had to do was uncheck it, click ok, go back to it, check it and then hit ok. This also got rid of the dotted box it put around icon text after they had been selected or whatever.
I dont know of any option. I've never seen one. But the weird thing is, I have no dotted lines now. I have in the past. But for some reason they just seemed to go away. I might have changed something but I doubt it. All I know is right now I dont have any dotted lines in ie explorer so it is possible. Don't give up. You will eventually find it.
