Xabout 2.0

Hey guys,

I've completed work on my program called "xAbout". It's out now in version 2.0. Here are some details about:

Fixed resize bug in main window
Added feature to store settings in registry due multi-user support
Added feature "More Info.." in main window
Added feature to skin button in main window (because MsStyled buttons aren't transparent)
No longer use of "Windows Scripting" to search pictures directory for available pictures - now using Win32 API (may fixes the bug that some people couldn't double click on the window)
Added new picture for main window
Much code improvements, more user friendly settings window

Same as machineHED, nothing happen after running it. no error message or whatever. only the sound came out indicating the program is quitting itself.

I have installed aquacontrols, still no luck. please help me. really want to try this app. :huh:

I also have the problem of it not running. I have used version 1.1 of xAbout and it is great, but v2 will not work properly. I run it but nothing happens. I would appreciate a little help if possible.

digitheatre, are you logged in with an adminitrator-account on windows? I had the problem that it won't run on a normal account and I don't know why.

great job Cassiel. As Cassiel already put, he has done his own controls built right into the apps.

Workaround for those who can't start xAbout 2.0:

Just rename the file "xAbout.exe.manifest" to "xAbout.exe.manifest.bak" or something else. You can even delete it. This will work until I fix the bug. I really have no idea why it don't work.

I've tested this just in that moment on a newly created user-account on my Windows XP. On the new account it don't work and on the other accounts it works without any problems. Very strange ...

This was the first application i´ve tried that try to emulate the osx look. Never tried others before even those made by jeff.

However i really like the OSX look. I never tried them before because i thought that most of them will have some problems impossible to solve due to the nature of the win XP OS (it´s completely diferent from the OSDX architecture) and i´m one of the guys that thinks that funcionality comes first than a good look when we talk about using an OS.

Examples of this are words that doesn´t fit in the buttons,deformed buttons instead the perfectly rounded buttons that we find on the OSX etc.

But i´m changing my mind. this Xabout appz does exactly what it says, have options to change everything, there´s no bugs, it´s stable, it´s compatible with Y´z Shadow and looks great! at least in my system!

I´m really surprised! High quality work!

Congrats Cassiel I´m looking for your Xspots appz now and i will try Jeff´s applications too, aswell as lynchknot´s safari skin and Iceman´s Jaguar VS.

Am i forgetting something?
