Canadian Going To Australia In January

i am going to australia with 3 buddies in january. anyone know of which airlines have stopovers where? we wanna go to new zealand/australia for a few months and some other place for a month or so. it is cheapest to just go to the place the airline has a stopover, so thats why i ask.

also, what the hell should we do while in australia? the only thing we know we have in mind so far is going to all the LOTR shiat in New Zealand. (i have some other ideas, but the gf wouldn't appreciate them)

we have 3 digital cameras (one with 10x zoom) so we're set for photography, and by summer i will have a glorious powerbook that we will be able to dump our pics onto and maintain a website of our travels.

also if any of you is aussie and wants to rent out a couple rooms/condo/apartment or employ some 21 year old canadians. then let me know. reply here or at cory at hotpony dot net

and.. the confusing part of your post is. you're asking a bunch of random people about air line flights.. instead of doing the obvious and erm.. checking the airline websites? Maybe you shouldn't travel.. don't want you walking into a wall and hurting yourself.

haha, hey now. i'm just asking people because perhaps they have been through it before. my travel agent is faxing some info later on in the day as well, but i was hoping to get ahead of her.

i dont really know which airlines are out there anyways. all i know is that singapore airlines have a stop of in.. singapore. and quantas has a stop over in hawaii but quantus is too expensive.

Try to fly Singapore Airlines. I went with them to Perth from London. Seriously good service.

the drop bears are more around in the bush, but the snakes like in urban areas, under houses and such.

definately gotta go to the Sunshine Coast (Queensland) and if you wanna see some cool animals go to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo which is just south of the Sunshine Coast.

Check out Sydney. I live there/here. Lovely city. Best way to see Sydney is on a Jet Boat - www.sydneyjet.com

Don't bother with Northern Territory, North Queensland, Tasmania or Adelaide.

make sure you go to some beaches in Sydney and the Sunshine Coast as well.

ya we'll be in aussie land for probably 2 months, new zealand for a month, and then the airline stopover desitination for a month or so. very flexible, i just made that itinerary up right now.

we should all have plenty of money, atleast a$3000. sunshine coast is a main destination for us, as we wish we knew how to surf. one of my friends, who i could swear was homosexual, has watched blue crush about 30 times.

i wasnt sure about steve irwins zoo.. figured maybe it would be some hyped up tourist location. but if it gets recommended, we'll go there. we kinda wanna catch the F1 race in Melbourne (march 26 i think).

we will likely check out much of australia. we've been offered some crazy 4x4 trip if we split the gas with a guy.. that would be fun. we do it here all the time, but its still fun.

also, we need places to live. is it tough to find an apartment for rental on a monthly basis? its not that common here in canada.

I was hoping, this summer, to have gone on holiday with Seph but, due to money constraints, I won't be joining him on his amazon adventure (or wherever he's going... He really is queen of the jungle )

Actually, DO bother with Adelaide. Nice area. Never been north so dunno. Perth is cool. The best bit is Margaret River a few hours South of Perth. Good community.

yo, the F1 grand prix was on here in melbourne on sunday (7th March) so you missed that..

also if you do go surfing, gotta check out bells beach/jan juc, its the bomb!

visit adelaide its pretty small but comfortable... ( no bias ofcourse :lol: ).
