Aqua-Soft ForumsI just recently got mmr 85's awsome ported icon packs. They are great! I just have a question. There are iTunes media icons and quicktime media icons. The thing I can't figure out is that there are quicktime icons and itunes icons for the same file type. And some icons for quicktime already have jaguar icons, such as bmps. There is a bitmap icon for quicktime and for preview. There is a quicktime icon and an iTunes icon for wav files. Which ones should I use? Which are the real ones?? There are many of these double icons. And, I know they are all authentic because they all are ported and they also look like original icons. What is the deal here?? Anyone??
Double Icons!?!?!?!?!
Excuse me Jmitch, but I want to use this opportunity to say that. ALL MY PORTED ICONS ARE GENIUNE, I ported them personally from OSX files that I get. I know there are a lot of "double icons" but i think it is due to the following reason.
In OS X, when you load or browse for a file, it will show the icons for the file when you select it and show some info. I think it depends on the application you use to browse, it displays the icon, so if you use quicktime to browse a mp3, when you select it, it will show the quicktime icon for mp3 and some info. If you use itunes, it will display the itunes icon when using the browsing dialog to locate a file.
When you use the "explorer" or the normal app to locate a file, it will display the icon of the selected app to manage that app. In thi case, if you use iTunes to play mp3, locating a file via windows, it will show the itunes mp3 icon.

No no, I completely believe you mmr! I can see that they are authentic anyways. I know what you mean. If what you are saying is the case, and you are right, then I guess that leaves me to choose which applications I want opening what files. Does os x allow you to do this?? Anyone with os x please help us out here!

I think it has on preferences panels of each app, to choose if it manages such files. I have seen that the mp3 get the itunes icon, but i repeat, i guess quicktime has the option to choose if it manages the files or not. However the opinion of a mac user is better.

I believe the little one is for when you are browsing a folder when you are trying to save a file to it or when you're trying to open something in an app. As in Windows it has the little icons. (16x16)
windows has this same thing. Take windows media player for example. Normaill all your mp3 icons have the WMP icon associated with it. But when you install winamp and make it your default app for that file type then you get a winamp icon on every mp3 file. Its not any different with OSX. Someone who always uses quick time will have the qt icon, or if they use itunes, then that is what they will have
