Making Microsoft Office 2003 Icons

I love the way people whinge about how A-S is going down the tubes in every damn' thread, and yet don't show the community spirit that they themselves say has disappeared.

If someone says something like AquaKid did, then why not offer to help them?

Does it really pain you that much?

Do you really have to flame them (which, I might add, I should have noticed before and quelled)?

No. If you've got nothing good to say about a post, don't say anything, unless it's a constructive criticism. I could understand if you'd all said something like "Aquakid, in future, make it more clear that you're asking for help", as opposed to the "OMFG j00 r n00b" knee-jerk responses that AquaKid got.

Is there any need for this kind of reaction in Aqua-Soft? If you really believe there is, you need to look at what you're thinking more objectively - by all means be passionate, but not so passionate that people who are inexperienced in the community get abused because they want to try to contribute.

I'm quite frankly getting sick and tired of this kind of behavioiur.

@Aquakid - I'd offer help, save for the fact that my chair has more artistic ability than I do... Good luck, all the same.

To those of you not involved in the flaming et al, I'm sorry to have subjected you to this outburst.

Whoa. I didn't really mean to start a flame war...

Now let me clarify on my first post:

I know how to use Adobe Photoshop, and other graphics programs. I know how to make icons- i tried once before (see here). Now what I meant to say was, does anybody have any creative suggestions or ideas for an icon set like, for example,

Make a 3-D Perspective 'W' and put it above a laying down image of a Word document."
Something more of that nature.

By the way, I have a bone to pick with you...

Whatever....

This AquaKid's post was so ****ing arrogant. Like oh I'm making so many ****ing icons and after that he puts 'I have no ****ing idea where to start'.

A much better post would be 'How do I learn how to make icons?'.

So in this case I will flame him....    <_<  :6

P.S. (To be completely honest, I have no idea where to start.)

now that sentence makes a lot of sense.

no idea where to start meant you have no creative ideas.

Why don't we go ahead and try this again:

I am planning on making some Microsoft Office 2003 Icons. These icons include:

Word

Excel

PowerPoint

Outlook

Entourage (for the real Mac Users)

Any and all creativity ideas, comments, and suggestions will be appreciated.

How about deciding to start by making a complete set based on the new office icons for Mac and dedicate them to a theme which we have on windows? Maybe make them for Milk, JetBlack, NEOS, Panther... etc etc. Then move on from there if there should be more requests.

Just hope to get you started with some ideas. ;)

Keep up that enthusiasm! :)
