You're converting your old VHS home movies to VCD huh? I do that too.

You may try looking here for all your answers converting those pesky VHS tapes to DVD/VCD/SVCD/DIVX.. etc..

if you just did a straight copy, you may be out of luck. i did that with some DAT files and could never figure out how to re-burn them.

for future reference, if you're getting the DATs from a mounted image or an already burned vcd, you'd need a tool like ISObuster and then choose 'extract but filter only mpeg frames' or something to that effet to be sure that you're extracting only what is useable for the vcd. if you do it that way, you'll be able to burn the vcd with nero no problem.

A VCD has specific qualities. MPEG-1 I think, and has specific dimensions and color depth. I know Easy CD Creator has a program that modifies it to work on a DVD player via VCD.

Do not do a direct copy. Just drag the dat file into the track space in your VCD compiliation. It will work now.
