What Is This Border?

i'm not looking for 0px, i just want this inside border to go away-- i searched all thru a-s and i spent a whole evening in stylebuilder trying to figure it out, but i can't seem to figure out how to get rid of these lines (see red arrows). does anyone know how?

big thanks in advance.

people have made skins that are 0px and text gets cut off as well as buttons, etc.

#125734

i just want to set that inside shadow as the rest of the window... does anyone know the stylebuilder value?

According to the VS that I modded (Smooth Stripes Gloss: Kol):

Top= ToolbarBackground

Right=frameRight

Bottom=StatusBackground

Left=frameLeft

They are all selectable using the "Windows and Toolbar" group from the shortcut bar on the left.

Edit: you'll have to modify the scrollbar images to make the border the same color if scrollbars are showing. They are also in the "Windows and Toolbar" group.

odd, it took the borders away for my apps but not my explorer windows. maybe i should be looking at 'global' or something?

#126009

how frustrating :rant:

could i maybe yoink your theme and pick it apart? there MUST be some way to get this to work...

#126075

HOLY ASS.

so i spent an ENTIRE evening just plugging in values one by one and testing each change; literally the long process of trial and error, until lo and behold, i got it.

and the worst part is? IT WAS IN FRONT OF ME THE WHOLE TIME.

when stefanKa said 'listview', i had no idea what he meant, it seemed so cryptic.

but if you go into the XML file under 'listview', the 'bordercolor' value is the color of the inside border!!

AGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

well, thanks anyway stefanKa!

:rolleyes:

and i deserve an award for being the biggest dumbass... EVAR

#126236

Hah.. or you can just edit the listview.bmp and fill it with a solid color..

That was about the only bmp which didn't cross my mind to edit..

Thx swisher59 and Stefanka ;)

OK, explain that to me, in ways that I can understand (read: What are you using to edit, and where)

k, if you use stylebuilder, in the working directory there should be an xml file. open that sucker up in a text editor and look up "listview". under that there should be a value for "bordercolor" or something. that vaule is the color of the explorer inside border. set that to the color of the main window and it should hide the border. i don't know if you can delete it completely, i haven't gone that far yet.

#126359

The listview borders only show up in a few select apps for me. Editing the frame BMPs did enough. But now that I've edited the listview BMP, I'm border-free!

still not following, where is the working directory located?

#126841

@Kej0, you should import the vs you want to edit with stylebuilder.

Just open StyleBuilder and there's an Import -button on the toolbar.

Just press it and select the vs you want to import. And with the working directory he means the location that you have imported the vs to. Atleast I assume so ;)

#126846

@ Shiggy

Primary Concern on how to remove the toolbar lines & adding only one color in the whole window using stylebuilder!
