VLC can be set up to have no border on the window in which plays the files 
and its unbelievably good, the best video player around, even for mac

You can try Bsplayer too, it is able to have borderless media window. Just dig in the preferences.

man, get off of savanna, its a great mac looking app, but is it really worth losing letters?? 
er...where do you go to take away the border in VLC? I cant seem to find it...I have a good skin for it, if anyone wants it post email here.
I just found an awesome Zoomplayer skin so I made the switch
i use kool-playa. it's a small (< 130 kb!), stand-alone exe that plays everything. the more resource efficient player i've found to date.
it's not skinnable, but i'm trying to see how i can mod it.
