Get This!

So I am an Att wireless customer and have been for a quite a while. Last yearish i bought a SE t68i phone. Loved the damn thing. The thing is broken now, the slide volume button snapped off, and I have thrown the thing around so much its just silly.

So I have been researching a new phone, but money is an issue right now, and the only way to get anything new for free is to reup my contract with them. In 6 months I will be moving and as I am on the gsm network, its hard to say if the place i move to will have coverage. So I wanted to avoid having a contract and being somewhere where my phone won't work.

So my decision was to just keep this phone, all broken and crappy and just struggle through dropped calls, static, and just overall crappy service for the next few months. Its so bad when clients call me, i end up repeating myself and yelling so much that they end up hanging up on me, LOL.

For those in the states that don't know, att is on the 950mhz system, which is garbage, but with the cingular thing going on, they are switching to the 850mhz system, and guess whos phone is not compatible on that network?

Well yesterday I get the mail, and lo and behold there is a postcard from SE saying that they appreciate me being a loyal customer, yada yada yada, and that they are sending me a free t226 phone with no strings attached. This is of course to avoid any lawsuits on their part, and to try and get back all the t68's becuase of all the notorious problems with it.

Well the new phone lacks most of the features of the t68, but still I'll take it cause my phone is crap now anyway.

sit, i have a T68i too, the bond edition ;) and im really happy would it, wouldnt change it, but yeah, if you have been throwing it around and such like, the frequency change would make me really happy to ;)

Cant you ask for something with the same features? its their freaking fault isn't it? why should you downgrade?

Yeah, it is a downgrade, there is some talk on the attws forums about people complainig about this and trying to get the t616 instead. ATT, has advised people that they would give the t616 if they reup their contract for a year. The problem is that this isnt an att problem, SE are the ones doing this, and I think if they get enough pressure, they may offer soemthing else. I personally couldnt care less about BT or the IR port, cause i can;t find anybody to bluejack anyway

hehhe well, but i do use my t68i bluetooth everyday to control itunes from my bed, and to control idvd too ;)

Still, better than nothing, dont you think? they could have gotten away with your phone is not supported? bugger off!
