Just wanted to let everyone here know that I just got a new iBook. Y'know, we can skin our Windows systems to look like a Mac, but, if you have ever worked on one, you will 'switch'. I have been in the Windows world for over 10 years and have been working with a G5 for our marketing department--checking on integration for our network, active directory, stuff like that--and I called and ordered an iBook. It came in today and I have already updated all the software through Airport Extreme. It's great!

That's right. ![]()
Would be nice if you'd answer to the (more than) occasional call for resources and screenies from the real Mac.
Congrats.

Goku,
It's not that it looks[/] so much different, it just that it is[/] different. You can skin Windows, but it is still Windows. There is nothing that beats this Mac. Nothing. It is the most incredible thing that I have ever used. I am telling everyone about this and that if they would just try it, they, too, would switch. They other day at work, I burned a data DVD (1.5GB), wrote a one page article (a 'Switch' ad, actually), got on the internet, updated the software, and about four other things all at the same time. On my Windows system, which is a 2Ghz Athlon with a gig and a half of DDR RAM, when I burn a CD, I can't do anything else.
And Expose'! Man, no emulation out there even comes close! And when you press the 'Shift' key when you press one of the keys, it does it in slow motion! At the same time as doing any and everything else!
Just save your money and get a Mac. It will change your life.

Eh, I didn't switch.
Don't speak for everyone. I use macs almost every day, and while they're great, it's Windows they're better than, not x86. Yeah, Windows has crappy multitasking. I can burn a CD, run SETI@home, and surf the web and chat without any slowdown on my 2Ghz PC (linux).
So no, OSX is wonderful, but it hasn't changed my life.
And Goku owns a mac too, so don't preach to him.
