Spymac Poll

A Spymac user has posted a poll with the question "Skinning windows to look like OS X. Compliment or insult?" I found some of his post severely weird.

Intresting read. It's nice to see you, Seph and Myuu defending us there. I would join to give a piece of my mind, but that would be counter-productive.

spymac is a bit juvenile,

5 minutes on a post-Aquasoft comp. vs 5 mins on a pre gets you your answer.

myuu's answer is funny, taken in context.

 GO get'em wizard show them what you are made of

Yes we all should get into this discussion. We must defend ourselves.

Well at least that everyone on that board is being very intelligent about this topic.

I would say that most of us enjoy customizing our PC. I have read through many forums about mac and pcs and many people like to mod the pc because it is really fun and challenging and it keeps you very busy. almost everyday i am changing the look of something on my pc.

Does it take a while to post the post at SpyMac, I don't want to try again because it would make me look like an idiot, and I also know that they can review post before accepting them. Well, anyway, where is what I came up with:

I believe it is just ignorance that makes you believe that customizing is insulting. People of the Mac community are so freely to say "those idiots" or "stupid people" that they don't realize what they say is making them look like the lesser person. Many of us can not afford a Mac, like me. I am stuck with a 3 year old PC, but still emulate OS X and have no problem with it. Yes, my PIII chokes every now and then, but it is alot more easy on the eyes than Luna is.

I am a member of Aqua-Soft and all I have been hearing is not "I got a new Windows machine," but rather "I finally got a Mac!" We Windows users have nothing but respect for people that own a Mac, and you bash us down like a King would to a peasant, which is not a metaphore of what we are, just how you treat us.

I will tell you this, my next computer is going to be a Mac, an iBook or pBook, I have yet to decide. Right now I have to settle for an iPod, which I absolutley love and cherish, but also has made me realize the quality of products from Apple.

Saying things like "Windows users are stupid, we actually have a Mac" is a useless fight. A computer does not make you more of a person, it just a piece of metal with a few shots of silicone. That type of fighting is just ignorance and senseless.

Tennis_Clap_emoticon.gif (golf clap) Good show old chap!!! Extremely classy post and you refrained yourself from stooping down to insult level.

Plus, i hate spymac forum, its loaded with biased ppl and the site is annoyingly slow and blant. Looks REALLY good, but sometimes I feel like caning their host for such a freaking laggy site. :chair:

I think customization is a form of self expression...and for those who spend a lot of time on the computer...with a artistic taste and vision...I am proud of emulating because I feel like I am creating a hybrid...its very exciting.. and its a group effort..making your os more and more beautiful with one step at a time...I feel like I am in the creation process and its weird but many people are getting really into it. To me Mac is too expensive and for today PC is so much cheaper and faster...spending a lot of money on a computer is like a 80s idea. So you have it...its a hobby...its a sense of achievement or whatever...I just like to be in control of my PC's looks...from the very beginning... Haha :canadian:
