Aqua-Soft ForumsI ordered an ipod on Saturday from the Apple Student store, and have just realised how crap their shipment tracking is! I'm in the UK and their warehouse seems to be in the Netherlands. Apparently it left the warehouse first thing Monday, but there's ben no change since! Has anyone in the UK ordered one from apple online and know how long it takes? I'm desperate for it to arrive!

When i ordered my iPod 15 GB, they said it would be shipped 5 days later, and i would have it in my hands after two weeks. But guess what, it took almost two weeks before i got a mail from them that said the iPod was sent. The mail said that my iPod should be at my house within maximum one week, and i could track it from their website. Guess who had to call them after two almost two weeks and ask where it was? My dad. I live in Norway, and he had to call all the way to England to get an answer, after trying lots of telephone numbers. They told me it had just come to norway, and they gave me a tracking number i could use. This tracking number actually worked
I think this is the badest service i have experienced from a company ever. It took almost a month to get my iPod =/
wow, i never knew apples shipping could luck so much, i mean, i ordered a mouse from macmice.com (Tennessee USA) and i live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and i had it home in less than a week!!! If a company like macmice.com can, apple should be ashamed of not being able to provide at least a BETTER service...

It started off in Netherlands before being shipped off to Japan, then Taiwan then to Luxemburg then back to the Netherlands and then finally reached the UK, phew!! Anyway it's here now, but god only knows what Apple were doing with it!

That's pretty weird with the iBook! I've just checked on the tracking website and there's still no update. All it says for it's location is that it has left "CNSHA02". Googling it tells you thats in the Netherlands, but it's not hugely helpful.
I am hoping to buy mac in the near future and was relying on the Apple website as there is no where else to buy them in the UK. After hearing this info I'm a bit hesitant to hand over my hard earned cash!

You shouldn't worry, Apple Store London is coming this summer, isn't it?
Supposed to be open in time for Christmas. But there are authorised resellers. There's a supremely good one in Tewksbury, tonnes of others scattered throughout the country though. They're pretty good as long as you don't go to PC World. How the hell they became Apple approved resellers I don't know.
unfortenately u guys dont live here... i know one of the apple authorized resellers extremely well, so my wait is a day or two for anything i want .

Thats seriously lucky. I just spoke to the phone support people. Apparently Location: CNSHA02 is Shanghai and not the Netherlands. No wonder it's gonna be a while!
i got my ipod in like 5 days. ordered it monday, got if friday... are u guys counting the weekends. i bet apple does the buisness days thing.

Woohoo! It's arrived! Final delivery pattern was Shanghai --> Luxembourg --> Eindhoven (Holland) --> Reading (UK) --> me!
Yeah my iPod took about 3 weeks to get Minnesota from China (!). But once I finally got it all the waiting was worth it.
