Is a whole forum for developers a good idea? We have a lot of developers here. It would give them and aspiring developers a place for help, advise, polls, and much much more.
Please consider this!

Good idea. It could include Alilm's apps, Siwu's apps, Avedesk, Smokescreen, maybe Jib's section (if he comes back to life with a new version of Address Book).
It would be very good for the overal tidiness ![]()
I like it! It beats tossing all my questions into the Windows OS forum.

No then people like wizard would use it as there persional "my computer doesnt start up" forum :6
Umm, I don't think Wizard is a developer.
The devs already have a private forum, you guys just can't see it. ![]()

If it's true, then I don't like it. At least let us view it, it's unfair to create forum inside a forum.

Just because I don't create programs for you guys doesn't mean I am not a developer.
If we did setup a forum it would be a private one.

Umm, no, if you don't develop AQUA apps, you're not a developer here.
I thought that was clear.
Anyway, this already exists,so no point in arguing over it.
so people who make samurize configs are not developers?
i would for sure call crni a developer.
Maybe a better name for 'developers' is 'coders'? Or possibly 'l33t c0d3rs' ![]()

If it's aqua related configs and he releases them to the community, then maybe.
Just because you make programs/scripts on your own doesn't mean you deserve a developers badge here.
Otherwise I would have gotten a devel badge a long time ago. <_<
All these little kinks will happen sometimes I don't want to go setting up different groups and badges and special forums till after IPB2.0 comes out, reason being, I do not want to add hacks and then it stop use from being able to upgrade.

i never asked a badge for myself. if Andreas still doesn`t have a badge why would i need one <_<
I didn't mean it like that. I meant a section for developers in general, anyone whos ever writen a line of code should get use of this section...
C'mon!
PS: I just wrotte my Hello world code for colsole!
I suggested this ages ago. Everyone ignored it. It's somewhere in this "comments and suggestions" bit. <_

^ That's what I thought he was saying! You Staff are thinking that he is stating to have a Developer Group Discussion Forum, when he is saying to have a forum where people can talk about different languages and get help in programming.
We'll see, >.
as a suggestion, it should be a private forum for developers and admins only.

you're not catchin what he's throwin out. ![]()
Less of "Developer" section
more of "need help with this line of C"
not Aqua specific.. just general coding tips/help.

But people who code are not always labeled as a Developer here. This forum is to get general info and ask questions about programming. Not just to talk about the Developer's here. It will also encourage the casual programmer to create programs here because they will have a place to ask questions about programming. It's like adding a forum about Music, only Programming.
ohhhhhh, i see what he is suggesting. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Good points both of you, thanks for clearing it up.
Not enough coffee flowing through my blood i guess ![]()

I belive that on the internet, other forums exist exclusivly for this.
Try http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp
or neowins coding section.
