Screen Resolutions

Fellas.....i have some emulators.....Gameboy,Nes,Neo Geo,etc.....and i use them in 1024 x 768 resolution on a portable computer....Sony vaio Model PCG R505GL....and when i shift to full screen the max resolution is of 800 x 600 and not of 1024 x 768 as it should be.....is there a way of solve this?????

I don't think it matters what resolutuion you run on your laptop. Because you are emulating very basic hardware (ie, NES) I think it's the console that can't go above that resolution.

yeah the graphics of the games probaly dont go above 320xsomething

Its not like its halflife where its built to preform on high end systems, heck the gamboy was monochrome for that matter, what do you want?

Try digging into the video settings of the emulators. Usually the have a way to customize the video output when in fullscreen. If not, then you might have to open the settings.ini in notepad and change the settings by hand.

Hope that helped. :D

i don't know the specific sony model, but maybe this is a dumb question... are you sure that laptop supports 1024x768? unless the video card supports a resolution, i don't think you can "add" on higher ones with software solutions... maybe someone else might be able to confirm or deconfirm that statement. i've never heard of being able to do that, though.

It may just be a limitation of the emulators you are using, but it is more probable that you can change the video settings in the applications.
