[request] Desktop Changer Widget

I know there are Programms out there that can change the wallpapers randomly and stuff, but a widget like this would be coo. So you put your favorite images in one folder and then klick on the forward or backward button on your desktop to change the wallpaper. Is that possible in windows or samurize?

For info on the konfabulator widget klick here

Great to hear, but I searched here for "desktop" and "changer" but I wasn't able to find it. Am I just to stupid or is it named different or where else may I find it?

thx

Sorry I meant i've completed this, but not released yet.

The usual reasons, permissions and a few bugs.

Ah, no problem, I can wait.

And if I haven't said it yet, you rock! :rock:

i'm curious as to how it would work, does the config have the walpaper built in? this is the best way for quick wallpaper withcing, but it seems like it owuld be a bit anoying to have the wall be a config... not to mention fairly taxing... you could also do it by setting the desktop backround to a script determined image (like in a weather widget) but would it update instanly, or would you have to do a refresh?

or can you make a comand to refresh teh desktop automaticly... i dunno, tell me how it works :6

@Floatingtrem

I don't think it would have been feasible to have a config as a desktop, I'm not sure if sam can handle it frankly.

To explain how I did it:

1) Creating an array of all images in a specified folder (user configured), then

2) Creating a link meter to an external plugin that sets the first picture as the wallpaper

3) Everytime after, using the external plugin to set the next picture in the array to the wallpaper.

This wasn't the hard part, the hard part was figuring out how to make jpegs into usable wallpaper (as far as I can figure XP only likes bmps, which is quite useless saying most people keep their pics primarily in jpegs). Also the scrolling left/right functions.

I've given up the idea of making this a direct port of the konfabulator widget, there's too many hurdles to jump through, so I've done my own images (or rather image) and as soon as my site is back up (i've been hitting my bandwidth consistently for a week). I will release.

Unless someone else wants to host it for me... ;)

you can make release on p2p?

a bittorent release by exemple don't need web hosting.

i don't know if it's possible but it can be a solution.

i got you covered, just email me the config/zip/whatever it is, i fyou wnana post a SS too, np

@Derek

I agree BT is probably the best way of propagating stuff nowadays, but I don't want hundereds of "Why couldn't you just zip it" posts.

For those that are interested, consider this a preview:

Edit:

1) Clicking the circle brings up the config window that allows you to find and select your desired wallpaper folder.

2) UP/Down (scrolls through the folder selected).

Any other feature requests?
