Aqua-Soft ForumsThanks to Haulden, the community is realizing the closest any Windows developer has ever clone to an exact replica of the wonderful application which comes standard on Apple OSX - iCal. While Calendar's development has only started, let's put up a wishlist for haulden to look at for the future. Add to whatever I miss.
-Maximize and resize - Ability to maximize and resize the application.
-Delete calendars - While you can create new calendars in the application with the "+" button, they cannot be removed within the app. It's possible to remove them by editing the dat code (open corresponding calendar number in /data and change true number to 0 and title to ""), but it should be possible to right click and delete (or a "-" button).
-Ability to check/uncheck calendars - When a calendar is checked, it should be displayed in calendar view. When unchecked, appointments from that calendar should be hidden.
-Color code calendars - While new calendars are set as separate colors, iCal allows the user to choose any color.
-Ability to resize calendars/mini-calendars collumn - In order to show more monthly calendars than only the current month or to make room for more User Calendars (categories).
-Mini-calendar taken from computer clock - Instead of having to build in the calendar as an image, it should be taken and drawn from the computer's internal settings (or have come with years of documented back and forward calendars). The "current day" should be taken from the internal clock.
-Better mini-calendar interaction - The mini-calendar on the left side should turn the currently viewed week dark grey, and "today" should be blue (it should also be blue in the main calendar view).
-Navigate mini-calendar - Ability to use the included buttons to navigate between months in the mini-calendar to show previous and future months.
-Pressable buttons - All buttons should have an indication of mouseclick. When changing calendars, while holding the mouse button in, a calendar should be highlighted in blue. Buttons should indent when pressed.
-Switch between 24 and 12 (am/pm) clocks
-Switch between 5 and 7-day weeks
-"All Day" Events - Small row at the top of the calendar to show full day events for each day (events that don't have a set time such as holidays). That should be vertically resizable.
-Transparent appointments - Appointments should be transparent like in iCal for asthetics and to easily view other items below the top.
-Show starting time at the top of an event - iCal does this. Good for organization.
-Correct Overlapping Time Events - Handle overlapping events (from different calendars) like iCal. Basically, the events sit side-by-side instead of how it's currently handled - the appointment added most recently overlaps the original (occupies the space).
-Ability to log past and future events - The appointment system is very limited at this point - it can only log a single week. Items are logged as "Sunday - Saturday." It doesn't really matter what week or month it is to the log - that is determined by the user. It needs a better log system to set past, present and future events, so this can be used as a serious calendar for years.
-Ability to set recurring events - For annual, weekly, daily, every (first, 2nd, 3rd, last) day of (month/year).
-Alarm Clock - Ability to set flexible alarm clock for events which alerts when the user chooses.
-Day/Week/Month Views - Ability to switch between daily, weekly and monthly views of calendar.
-Advanced search function - Searches appointments' titles and descriptions and displays all pertaining events in a drawer below the calendar.
-Info Drawer - (opened by the "i" button on the bottom) Include an info drawer where if an appointment is selected, it slides out/opens to show more information about the event including title, description, associated URLs/emails/places and times.
-Address Book - People icon on the bottom links to address book - user's vCards can be dragged from the address book to an appointment to denote their involvement in the appt.
-Always on top - "Pin Calendar" button on the button toggles "Always on top" mode.
-Import calendars - Ability to import Apple's ICS files such as U.S. Holidays, so those don't have to be set manually. Other users' calendars can be imported as well.
-Export calendars - Ability to export calendars to other devices (PDA, iPod, etc.)/hard drive/sharing with other users.
-Calendar Agent - Optional system tray icon which starts with Windows and monitors calendar to alert user of alarms even when the iCal app isn't open.
-To-Do list - Like Apple's iCal, the option to open up the "To-Do" list as a collumn on the right and setup a to-do list, which can be color-coordinated. (Also able to be exported to devices such as the iPod - as "Notes.")

You're really on track, Haulden. It's looking better by the day (with a new release practically every day) and has serious potential to be the end-all calendar application on the PC. Great work, and thank you very much.
