Persionaly i hate this new policy, when i want to see screenshots, i want to see screenshots, not weed through a 40 page long thread where like only 1/2 are for screenshots. How many people will actualy read the thread and fufill requests? I know i wont.
So anyhow i made this poll, and if people side with me id like to encurage a relapse in policy, else if they dont, dont. Think of it as a petition.

I agree too...After a while it gets very irretating looking at "NICE Wall" and "where can i get that?" posts instead of Screenshots..it is very true there are topics with 10+ pages and only 50% of them are screenshots.
Sorry its going to stay like that for this month.
yes, i liked the old way..
but, it would be nice if ppl (all) just include basic info with the screenshot.. like, what wall, skin, and maybe samurize script they are using.. that helps alot!
i feel bad bothering them, pm for those things..
I chose the old way also, but lets wait the month out and see how it makes out.
IMHO PM's and better labeling of what's going on in the shot are more than enough.
I'm betting that that March thread may set a new record for pagecount though...

I think the big advantage with letting people reply in the thread is that us mods don't have to worry so much about trying to keep tabs on the "what wall is that" posts in the topic.
I do, however, think that the hassle this causes for us is worth it, for a tidier thread...
I think that with measure and mod's help this could be a good, thing.
1.- when youre looking for a specific/wall/mod/icon, sometimes you dont get response from theauther (god knows ive contacted cmove thousand times for a certain wall with no response) this way, whoever knows (with 14000+ members, chances are someone will know) will be able to PM you with the answer, link, etc.
2.- If people dont get a response trough a PM, many mebers will decide to post a new "Where can i fin this _____" thread and that, to my perception is worse than a bloated screenshot thread. Dont you think?
Maybe only requests should be posted, answers answered trough PM or something of that sort...

Just to comment on Stevie saying how much work the screenhots thread is. Why not appoint a screenshots only moderator? Less work for you, and no real increase in staff.
my understanding is when eventually we get the gallery... we will no longer have a screenshots thread. so on that basis this is just a temporary solution, that i think we can all deal with untill the gallery gets set up.
@timmie - please correct me if im wrong.

ya, i never even view the thread. But; on both occasions I've posted a SS to it, i had people PM me asking for something. I showed them that way.
say you have 100 screen shots, that's 100 posts. Now 1/3 of those have someone respond to req something. Now you've got 133 posts. Well out of those 100 1/7 of them had 2 people req the same thing before the person replied, now you've got 147 posts. Well, now the people reply with answers, now you've got 180 posts. Meaning there's a possibility that 2,3 pages could be nothing but people req/answering.
Kills the whole point of the thread if you ask me.
It might but since people do not post detail'd descriptions of their desktop, people want their shizzle, and since some people do not want 50 pm's about a desktop they can reply to someones request there, that way members and guests can see oh thats what he used yada yada yada. It works both ways, but for march we are going to try it this way, and in the end we'll see what works best.

Agreed... really, im sure everyone benefits from seeing links to cool wals/icons, dont you think? even if you have all of the walls icons you want, you had to start somewhere didnt you?! give the rest a better chance

yeah, why not just make it mandatory for people to post the basic information about their SS? that would be a ton easier than people just posting a screenshot and waiting for people to post replies asking what the specs are
I try to do that if it's not obvious...well some of the time...ok not much, sorry
