:D I don't think, they will release a G5 Powerbook very fast. The G4 Powerbook is not so long yet released.

Last heard from the Macworld to be expecting G5 laptops sometime in August... but that's still a speculation though. I wished it be released soon too. ;)

Considering the desktops need 9 fans, I don't see it happening soon.

Im guessing they'll create a G5-M that has lower power usage and Centrino like features (power scaling, etc).

That's right. It's a lot of cooling required.

I think Apple might be considering liquid cooling instead. ;) Check it out here.

I'm not shure I would trust liquid cooling in my Mac...if I had one

G5 PBs "might" come out by the end of 2004.

G5 90nm is allready out and it`s used in XServe G5 but it`s till too hot for PBs.

Probaly apple.

no i dont think anyone knows, apple seems to like to keep stuff hidden till they release it. A liquid cooled laptop would be damn cool. damn damn cool.

Liquid cooling is way way too risky. I have no idea how many times i dropped my old laptop but all it would take is just once and it would crack the water supply tank.

liquid cooling is not too risky. there doesn't need to be a water resivoir if the heat is properly radiated, which is likely what they'd do. furthermore, i'm sure they'd consider that people might drop them in their designing.

anyway, hitatchi (i think) has already shown prototypes or at least designs for water-cooled laptops.

but yeah, the g5 probably runs too fast right now... considering, especially, that the g4s are setting people on fire .

regardless of when it comes out, that will be a SWEET machine, though.

i doubt they would use water ;)

some kind of cooling liquid, yes, but water? no.

So long as it has good thermal conductivity and capacity... ;)

I see this as a viable option. :naughty:

Ha, this reminded me of the old thread that had "prototype" G5 pBooks. The Lunchbox and the UFO.

I am s(h)ure Elppa will find something that exceeds all of our expectations.

Most predictions on Spymac are for them to be announced on or near MacWorld San Fran. Whether they will or not is another question.

i would not use liquid cooling for the fact that [ IFF something does happen, the liquid is released ] then there will be 3000 dollars down the drain. but thats an iff, its really easy to secure liquid cooling. its not like a pc where IFF something happens and the liquid magically comes out, you can buy a replacement part for 10$ at your local computer store.
