Objectdock 0.86 Is Awesome!

0.85 ran at about 30-40 fps on my old laptop with 8mb Rage Mobility, Objectdock 0.86 runs at about 60 fps!!!!!!

(using mag effect 2, and custom engine)

It even takes screenshots faster than 0.85 when minimizing (I think).

A great, great, great, great app Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The single best .exe I have run in 4 years!!!!

Why do people bother with the other docks???????????

:D:D:D:D:D:D

Because other docks are more stable and accurate and quicker? (yz)

The only problem with this dock, and it is major might I add, is its magnification accuracy. This is very important to me. That is why I have been using yz dock over Object Dock for quite some time now, even when yz dock had very little features and object dock was loaded. Object Dock has many great things that yz doesn't have, but yz wins. The dock with the closest magnification effect wins for me, no matter what else it has.

I have been using ObjectDock since I downloaded it and it has not crashed once for me. I love all the docks, so I hate to argue about which is best. The fact that we have a choice is amazing, I was happy with just one dock program, let alone 3! Anyways, as far as Object Dock goes, the thing I would love the most is to make a new setting menu with an OSX style menu (tabs, visual style, etc.) If Jeff is reading this...hint hint ;) That would make the app seem so much better, it would be incredible. I might try and design a menu draft and show it to him just to show him what I am thinking. I am thinking kinda like the menu Jef (one "f") is integrating into iTalk. Anyways, its already great, but you guys have to admit that this competition is just a positive thing. Think about it, one integrates something, they all do, it is just making all of them better by sharing ideas, so lets try and stay away from criticizing, but keep encouraging the authors to compete in a good way. Anyways enough of this...keep up all the good work, this is the best community on the internet! Later.

Hey guys, been reading and watching for a long time, but first posting time today. I have also not had a problem with Object Dock at all, no crashing or anything. One thing that Y'z has that OD doesnt is the ability to "Stretch" the dock to fit the screen, and I like that feature, balances out my desktop more ;) But at the moment I'm runnin both Y'z on the right side of my screen and OD on the bottom, and my functionality has remained the same as BD (Before Dock) The only complaint I have with Y'z is that it doesnt appear to be as fast as OD. Fast as in, how it magnifies and de-magnifies, OD is definitely smoother and nicer looking in that aspect, plus at the moment, Y'z is hoggin up more memory! ahhh, only by about 2 megs though.

Once I fine-tune my desktop I'll be uploading a shot of it to the display area, right now I have a lot of unmatched stuff, Orange background/msstyles and colorful dock icons hah. Good work on OD and Y'z! Two VERY outstanding programs.

You are right I apologize that sounded like a flame. We are lucky to have so many talented people writing docks.

I tried y'z and moby, but since I have a real bad vid card (Rage Mobility -p 8mb) the other docks were real slow (5-10 fps) so I thought I was out of luck. Until I tried OD, it seems to work well with slow cards, gave me 60 fps! instantly

So I was well chuffed.

You know what we are even lucky to have 3 different docks that cater to different types of systems, from slow old laptops all the way to Ti4600's.

Long live Jef, Mr Yamaguchi, and Moby. I'd buy you all a drink.

Keep it up you are doing a great job.

Why would you place the apperance of the dock above the actual function of the dock? I'm curious: it doesn't seem rational.

LoL.... never the less, Objectdock is a good dock.

Moby crashes on my machines... Yz is slow, eats up more memory and doesn't use ico files.

The only problem I had with OD is the recycle bin not working on one of the machines. But it works great on the others. For the several machines that I've tried, OD was the most stable.

I love the clock and the right-click options of Yz though.

Jeff small tip,..

We all know OD cant differentiate between some windows,.. I.e. Help Centre,.. search etc.

Why not have it use .png's and command,.. according to the TITLE name of the window properties?
