well, I don't know how the Zen sounds, but the iPod has a much better and intuitive to use user interface. in my opinion the menu structure is well chosen and the options available (card reader, radio tuner, microphone plug, ...) are worth the money. and there is another thing: BIGGER screen, HIGHER resolution, COOLER background light colour and definitely better design... btw: I'm using Windows XP too.
regarding the sound quality, I never listened to a Zen but the iPod has excellent ratings for the sound it produces. I read alot of test and reviews about it before I bought it last october and in fact, it has a great equalizer with about 20 presets or even more, I don't know exactly, works great with iTunes and never disapointed me. so I say iPod...

damn, this question shouldn't ask here @aqua-soft
everyone would say iPod.
but i get the point. i'll go for the iPod, 20G version. (kinda short of money for 40G iPod)
I'm glad everyone says iPod. I just ordered a 15 gig one yesterday. Says shipping on or before Wednesday. I hope its as good as my expectations because they're very expensive.
I have an iPod, and I say, especially with iTunes now for Windows, if you have the money, you will be very happy with an iPod. I sometime read a bedtime story to mine. Tip, iPod's do not like "The Ugly Duckling."

You should have been at ipodlounge.com forums when some guy asked whether the ipod or iriver ihp was better. that was some funny sh*t ![]()
Just received my 40 Gigger... :naughty:
Wonderful, lovely, spectacular, awesome, sleek, cool, and any other great sounding words you can think of.
Can't think of more adjectives since it's 430am here. Got to sleep now.
But I am still able to say, go for the iPod. ![]()
Yeah zen is great...... ![]()
the zens are very nice player, and encredibly affordable as well as sporting many features, however, you really need to hold one to realize it, they feel like cheap POS, no offencse to the player, but it feels hallow, and empty, its not well weighted, and i would be if creative triend a wee bit harder it could have been much smaller- IMO the ipod is much better than the zen, but when you consider the price differnce (nearly 200 bucks for the big ones) its a tough descicion to make
Lol, the 60Gig Zen costs less than the 40Gig iPod, now that is funny and the batteries are easily replacable and don't cost more than the player itself and you can still use it after 18 months.

ipod, only cause apple will send u a new one if u so much as sneeze on it(slight exaduration) im using my 3rd ipod in less than a year.
can i ask u this, does this jukebox thing have brickle on it? or solitare?
why on earth would u need a 60 gig music player. i have a 10 gig ipod, and haven't even come close to filling half of it.
Get something which you feel good with.
It's ultimately how you feel about your purchase that matters, not others. ![]()
oh for all i care buy a God damn Rio!
Try it before you buy it and you`ll know what`s (iPod`s
) good for you!
people <_<
the rios do look nice though... though i never have heard anyhitng about one in person, the old ones where utter crap though, so i have a huge grudge against the company, my rio 600 just randomly died, and doen even think about support, sonic blue/rio/diamond have been in and out of existence for soo long, who knows ![]()
as far as size? it depends on how much you listen to, i have a 15gb ipod, and its half full, however, i havent even loaded half of my music onto it, just cause i'm lazy- and as it is i get very tired of the music on it, cause i know it all so well (i listen to music practically 24/7) it all depends on what you need, if you asked me 2 years ago i would never have imagined wanting anyhting more than 5
in the meantime  rock on
I've just brought a 10gb iPod ![]()
Cant wait until it arrives.

P.S. Has anybody here had problems with the Firewire port on the Sound Blaster Audigy with the iPod?
