I just found out today that we have recieved appropriate funds to get me a powerbook. Most likely a 17". I will have to wait a little while for it to get here though. I live in Budapest, Hungary
It was a good day!

so youre passing on the gift to the less (aqua) fortunate?
I AM THE LESS AQUA FORTUNATE!
plus i`m in Serbia so i would be more than glad to jump to Budapest to take it ![]()
(i`m NOT kidding!
)
too late bro ![]()
I'll finally have my powerbook in about a month. The only good thing that comes from work
I still can't decide. I want the spee of the powerbook in the ibook casing.
^I require at least a 17" screen >.
Yeah, but how will you haul the beast around? 17'" of mac goodness if gorgeousness and gorgeosity but I'd break my back going to class with it. Its 12" for me all the way!
So true. I'm going from 15" to 12" based on my experience commuting by foot/subway.
The 15-incher felt like a bag of hammers by the time I got to the office.
I left it there overnight sometimes, dreading carrying the thing back and forth.
12" = bag of Twinkies.
Congratulations on the new comp, worm ![]()

my G3 is faster than this. Sorry to ruin your gig, but adobe photoshop runs faster on my machine
500mhz + 768ram.
Potentially you can upgrade yours to something far more superior cause I got an iMAC <_<
But I wont be an ass and congratulate you for a MAC!
enjoy (Y) and welcome to the club.
I looked into upgrading. It is likr $500. to sink a 1.4GHz processor in it. A DVD-R drive is about $150 here. I don't know how much cash I want to sink into this. Since I found out I will be getting a new powerbook. In the pipeline is dual G5, at least 1 20" display. That day may never come. It is up to our the supporters of our organization.
I am going for a 17" pb because of screen realestate. I need as much possible as I will doing much location recording, & graphics/web design. I will be lugging around mics & various other audio equipment too.
I just wanted to thank the community for making the pc "bearable" by modding it. Sadly I will not have time to work on any mods as I will be traveling all over.
I just wanted to share that, good things still happen in such a crap world!

although 17" sounds alot for a laptop, the way apple have designed it's amazing how small and lite it actually is.
and congrats about the powermac, as Goku said... "welcome to the club"
