[ann] Blog For Smokescreen Project Launched

A blog has been set up by myself and Stevie BM so that we can keep you up to date on the project's status. The address of the blog is http://smokescreen.jablog.com/blog.php

This is temporary, as we hope to get a permanent website set up in the future. However, we feel this is a better way to keep you informed rather than posting here.

For those who are wondering, Smokescreen is the codename of the project discussed here. I know that rumors run rampant, and we have already encountered a few regarding this project....please keep in mind that if you don't read it at our blog, it is probably not true. The last thing we need is a bunch of rumors and gossip hampering us, so we plan to address incorrect rumors when they arise.

Thanks for the support and interest- this should be a great project!

Is there still life in this project yet?

#216724

If there is, it's being hidden very, very well -_-

You're right, dappleyard, it's being hidden very well in the private smokescreen forum :P

No, I'm serious.

There'll be more news when we've got some work done.

Hi wiebeest, the plan with Smokescreen is, rather than make a pure OSX emulation suite, to make a suite of tools that can potentially be used to (hopefully) perfectly mimic OSX (as far as is possible, given current limitations of Windows), but can just as easily be used to mimic, say, a Linux WM, or BeOS, or create your own bespoke WM.

And is this developement any far?

Will it be free, of payware (like part of stardock or anything like it?)

And will all these tools, like you describe this 'smokescreen',

be combined in one app, like I suggested above with for instance

one finder/dock app, or will it be alot of small apps as we allready have?

Good luck on it and hope to get enlighted on this matter soon.
