[release] Wave Theory
I'm not a great designer, so I can't really offer any help, but that looks great!!!
Fantastic idea
:woot:
use vectors?
Very nice. Hope to see more from you. ![]()
yeah, i used vectors- but to kmake the selection in order to aply the different color i had to rasterize it, only way i've foun is making it REALLY big, and shrinking it- and i'm not about to just redo the whole wallpaper
add a 1pixel gauss blur maybe?
the style is my lOVE....
Great wallpaper, even with the aliasing issue.
What program are you using? In Photoshop rasterizing vectors shouldn't make them aliased... at least not when I do it.
Here's how I'd do it:
*Grab the selection of of the "star-shape".
*Make the selection into a layermask for the "star-shape" layer.
*Gaussianblur the layermask 3-5 pixels.
*Adjust Brightness & Contrast of the layermask to get the clean edge back, only anti-aliased this time around. (Raise contrast and lower brightness).
Hope it helps.
all fixed,
(see the large version at the top)
i also reduced the saturation a bit, it was too blue towards the top
i used a similar solution, i had to do it differently though
not relaly sure how layer masks work.. did get that going, but you made me think of a similar method. that improves things a bit and alowed you to anti-alias more things (eg, make an anti-aliased selection of a photo):
-select the shape
-go to the channels window
-create a new channel
-fill the selection with white
-deselect
-gaus blur to around 3-4 px
-go to levels, and bring the arrows close together towards the middle until the image has a nice crisp edge
-click the "load chanel as selection" button on the bottom of the chanel window
-you now have and AA selection, use it to select part of an image, fill is, put a gradiesnt in it, whatever
another choice is: (though i dont think it works as well, but its easier)
-create your shape
-go to the paths window
-choose "Load path as a selection"
-and there is your selection
Very nice wall, your supposta be working on the findertype app tho :canadian:
Simple wallpaper, but I really like your style. ![]()
tahnks guys, i should have more sometime soon,
dont call it a finder app, i dont like that (
)
its a "file browser"
anyway, yeah, i am working on it, i'm also working on getting fully immersed in photoshop, the more i figure out, the better i can do graphics work, plus i have no school today, so i got tons of time :6

Yeah that first step is basicly what I meant. When you make a layermask you can edit it in the channels tab and then load it as a selection. ![]()
yeha, i figured taht out now
