Skinners, Modders, & Apps Makers, Please Read This

hi, maybe my post comes the wrong moment because of duckies latest post but i'll do it anyway...

here's the stuff:

i (as most of you did) wanted my PC not to look anymore this crappy MS look, but the famous OS X look. AS many of you i can now fool some people in my OS nature, but in order to get to this result i had a few prob that most of you didn't encountered...i'm french, & most of the apps, skins, or tweaked files are in US.

for example, when i used the excellent work by iceman, & decided to tweak my system files after the reboot i get a mixed language PC (& as long as i am not the only one to use this PC i couldn't let it like this...)

so here's the topic of my post: i'm planning to build up a french aqua site (i know there is enough aqua site around here with the same stuff & i agree with that) to provide to my fellow countrymen the opportunity to have all those apps, skins and more in french.

i'm not asking you to make french apps, i'm just asking to all those who contributed to the aqua scene if they are ok to let me distribute their work, in a french version, cos i've already made a lot by myself for my own use.

well i hope i'll have some replies, but anyway let me tell you to all those who made my PC getting more "macesque", that they are really making some good work, even if it's just "for the look", it requires good knowledge of computers.

Actually, this is a good idea. When I had my server, I kept Russian, Japanese, and French versions of the dll's and files for XP.

I say, go for it, but stick to language specific files.

thx, but what you mean by stick to language specific files?

to be more accurate i just want to offer to french people exactly the same files you have in US language for "convert a pc into a mac, it means the whole system files iceman have made that i've already turn into french, the different themes for skinning apps like ObjectBar, WB or else & a few little stuff...

if you mean by stick to the language files that i shouldn't offer again diffenrent themes of icons or other stuff which doesn't need to be translated (like Y'z shadow or iBlink...), be sure i won't do that cos i'm not a "professionnal", i mean by this i don't have a huge bandwith limit, & i don't want to have troubles like some of you had...

so if u meant this be sure i completly agree with your latest post so...of course my site won't be a tripled of an other one but just the complement for french people to all your great site i can't even try to imitate.

How I feel, and I have seen many that agree, is that Yes, you should offer a french site for those who speak the language and offer french files for download, but if they just want icons or pngs or cursors or wallpaper, I believe it's best to only offer links to them.

I've translated all system files to german (plus a few extra files wich Iceman don't modified). The problem is that I have to pay extra for the traffic on my website. Maybe somone could host them for me..?

The next versions of my xApps will become language independent, so anyone can make translations for it.

as i told you, i don't want to see my site suspended cos of too many downloads that people can find elsewhere, images are the same in english than in french (i guess) so i don't need to host some, i think we're talkin the same way...

for now it's just a project i even shouldn't talk about it, but if some people wants some french stuff, just ask it here...

thx, it's true it's a quick realease, but i'm a student & i'm in exam period for now, so i don't have much time to spend on my site for now, i swear it's gonna getting better later, but it's also my first website so plz be indulgent...

oué c la version OSXP-A de judge, et pis en plus moi je comprends pas pourquoi ils disent tous que WB pompent trop de ressources, chez moi il prend meme pas 1 Mo de mémoire...

ben je pense que il y a pas besoin de traduction pour le thème d'Iceman, essaye, si besoin je le ferais, je compte bien rajouter des trucs alors hésite pas à demander je suis ouvert à toutes propositions
