Linux Apps?

Hey all I'm running SuSe 9 perfectly fine using GNOME 2.4 well actual it's the Ximian Desktop version but same thing.

I'm trying to find a dock bar for linux, I tried gDesklets but it don't work, and was also wonderin if anyone knows of some drop shadow stuff....althought I think that one is impossible if the transparency thing can't be done yet..
