[help] Places Bar, Icons, System Folders

Hello I'v used Iphile to change my desktop folders icon, however the new icon does not appear in the places bar consistently. Instead of using the system call to MyDesktop I tried using the path to folder which had the correct icon. Unfortunatly the path was to long. I then tried to route it through a shortcut, the icon would appear but the button was non functionial. Any Ideas?
