If U use gaim as ur IM why not give it a nice look, with some crystal icons

i use kopete as my IM i like it and it works.. i never got ICQ to work for Gaim yet 
but i kopete has sorta a nice cyrstal look to it

From what I gather, it seems to be some kind of instant messenger for Linux....am I right??

Yes, it was an AIM client last time I used Mandrake/KDE, but it may have expanded since then
Yes GAiM has been expanding ,it suppports most protocols MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, IRC, Gadu-Gadu(GG),IcQ,AIM, the only thing the developers r working on is File transfers ,which it should be included in KDE 3.1
some file tranfers work but just for IcQ. 
also I believe GAIM is being released for Windows in the future...which will be nice
