[help] Hardware Malfunction

What's wrong with my PC?

When it is cold booted sometimes the system halted with blue screen with message :

***Hardware Malfunction

Call your hardware vendor for support

***The system has halted***

When i push the reset button and scandisk is completed, the system become normal. The problem is, it is unknown which hardware is malfunction. Are there anybody ever to experience this?

I built the PC myself and its specifications:

AMD AthlonXp 2000+ not overclocked

Epox 8KHA+ Motherboard with 384 MB DDR SDRAM (PC2100)

80 GB HDD, Pioneer DVD-ROM(DVD-120s), LiteOn CD-RW(LTR-40125s)

ATI 9600 Pro 128 MB

SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum

Windows XP operating system with SP1 moded with Flyakite 3.6 system files.

i think u should get a new set of pc ... or change ur case broo ... its soooo screwed inside ... cable here cable there ...

sometime u must clean the card inside ... or is it the xp ... that sucks sometimes ...

i wonder u ask this question ... coz u r one pc expert at ur place ... i knew u from looong time a go ...

Go to

Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer

Then look in the Application and System logs (you can pick them of the list on the left) to see which app or part of system is crashing. This'll help you find out whats causing your problems.

I've just clean it up, but when i switch it on, the problem is back. And i don't think it caused by cable.
