[release] Iex Settings

"iEx is a utility for Windows XP that displays a grid of thumbnails, each representing an open window on your computer. When you click on a thumbnail it brings the corresponding window to the front..."

I created a control panel for iEx to make editing the options easier. This program has been gathering dust since last year because siwu was too busy with the new version (now known as "Expire") to fix the problem of the INI file not reloading after changes were made. Someone asked for this to be released, so here it is. I hope it gets more people to try out iEx, so when Expire is ready it will have a bigger fan base!

Thanks to deadzombie, whose request inspired the project, and also to Sharpie30K, who provided the icons. Finally, thanks to siwu, who supplied a custom version of iEx 0.2a which includes a "Settings" menu item in the system tray. :)

Post your comments below. Remember that this topic is only for the settings program, not iEx itself. Don't bother siwu about it; he has enough to do!

@HEPB: try clicking the link in the first post.

@Mad_Mike: wonderful. I hate messing with ini files, it's the darkest side of aquafying. I love this app, thank you very much.

Little offtopic question...ok, suggestion..no, reminder: Image-In?update? :unsure:

@Mad_Mike:

thanks for posting the app, I think it has waited too long on your HD.

sorry for don't have the time to mod iEx 0.2 for your great app :/

in the mean time, great job man :)

:) I'm glad people are finding this useful.

@Pe7er: SuperJerk has been pretty busy lately, but a minor update should be coming soon. Luckily AveDesk showed up and is probably better for desktop shortcuts than iMage-in would have ever been. We just added the shortcut feature in because it wasn't hard, but we never intended the program to be used as a shortcut replacement app.

@siwu: You are right; I should have released it sooner! I don't think it's that much trouble to close and restart iEx, so don't worry about that. You should spend your time on Expire... ALL of your time! :lol:

Thanks for answering. I never said I used ImageIn as shortcut-providing app. It's lovely as a image-preview with slideshow. I'd like it to be updated. Maybe some good background for it? ;)

thanks for take your time with this...

UPDATE: When you launch the control panel, the window appears in the center of the screen for an instant, then moves to where you left it last time. I fixed it so it doesn't blink in the center anymore. (I realized what I did wrong while working on my upcoming Switcher control panel.)

Unzip the attached file into your iEx folder and choose to overwrite the old "iEx_settings.exe" file.

Thanks to everyone for all the positive responses! :D
