Or you can change it to what you like.

I take no credit for anything but the time on the about box. This is part of a collaberated effort. Much thanks to Ash for his first release. And to everyone else involved!

Any questions just read all of this topic first please.

Hey MartinG,

Although I haven't tried out your hard work put into this (I prefer to my have my URL bar have the square look-just for a change), I'm sure that other members who give it a go, will appreciate your efforts too...

Regards... ;)

Thanks a lot !! :D

Bump: Updated! For those of you with a fresh install of firefox download the theme in the first post and install the normal way. For those who have used the classic.jar replacment, replace back to the original classic.jar and then tou can install the new theme the normal way.

and then:

After you install compact menu replace the compact.jar with this one

Download PrgmFilesCrome.zip

in Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Crome if you want to use the button in my screenshot.

To have it all on one bar right click\customize and drag everything to the top bar. Then viewmenu\ uncheck nav bar.

Then checkmark bookmark toolbar. Then mod the hell out of it to suit your taste. Windows stores Pinstripes.jar in Docs and settings\...\aplication data(hidden)\Phoenix\...\...\crome when you install normally (for if you make modifications and want to replace it to see your changes)!!

Can't seem to get rid of the "go" text, next to the go icon?

Go to Progeam Files\Mozilla Firefox\Crome

It's in en-US.jar. You need to change \locale\en-us\browser\browser.dtd:

<!ENTITY goButton.label               "Go">

to

<!ENTITY goButton.label               "">

AoW777 has a version with square address bar (minus my original orange SnapBack Safari button) and other differences on this page:

Happy surfing!! :D

Good deal on updating this MartinG...

I have a couple cool 'sharc-2-8.50.png' s from Lynch, but both yours and Magbi9, are nice to have for a matching overall theme...

lol, looked what we all have learned, open up a dam .jar (dig in-explore) and look what is accomplished!

#118421

very good work, thanx

#118586

Damm this is strange, Pinstripe that looks like milk and isnt even close to Safari and a About Box saying Safari  ´

We need a super ultra safari skin for Firefox :D

#118594

I too am not sure about the "About Safari" box inside a Pinstripe theme.

It's a pretty nice box though. Good work.

Could the text lines be altered to be moved out of the inside shadow area, or the shadows be applied at a 90 degree angle instead of 120 or whatever the current angle is? That should minimize the effect on the left and right side.

#118672

I tried moving the text over to the right, but the right side went too far. I'll release one with the default about thing in a little while, after I eat dinner.

[Release]

Here's the same stand alone theme but with the default "about Firefox" window.

#118760

I just wanted to jump in with a couple of things.

First, it's quite the awesome port. I was using the previous port of the pin stripe theme and my tab bar didn't look right. Now it does.

Also, I was a little confused by the safari about box so I was enthusiastic when I noticed there was a version without it. Then I realized that I almost never look at the about box (I'm pretty sure which browser I'm using without it) so what's the point in switching?

#118803

This is an awesome port. I just reinstalled FireFox to get a fresh look at the mod when I was done. Simply amazing and incredibly easy to install.

Thank you a huge amount !!!!

P.S. Also, I love the about box.

#118830

Nice! Does it support Toolbar enhancements and cutemenus extensions?

#118929

Cutemenu works, I have tested it. I don't know about the other.

#118935

[Release]

Here's the same stand alone theme but with the default "about Firefox" window.

Download PSdefaultAbt.zip

Sorry but theres only an empty folder, called PsdefaultAbt in this file... :(

Could you please correct this? The skin is really great :woot:

#118937

The file is fixed. I had forgot the last step which was to put the jar in the folder. Duuhhh!

#118968

Thanks a lot (Y) (Y)

#119319

All i can say is awsome work. It took me a few times to get it right but it was worth the problems i had working out what was what but once i did its now perfect. Ur the master for sure.....

#121238

thank you - I will use it :D

#121307

You're welcome! Feel free to modify it and expand your knowelege of skinning. :smartass:

#121314

Updated Feb 29: changed the pinstripe background provided by Ash. There's 2 versions on the first page, one with the about window I made and one without.

#122115

I installed the theme, and it looks great! Much better than the other port I was using.

There's just one problem, though. The tabs don't show up as they do in the screenshot.. All I see are grey patches for tabs. Can't even tell which tab is selected. I'm using Windows 2000. Is there a setting I need to tweak? (My knowledge of skinning is virtually nil, so detailed instructions will be hugely appreciated)

A restart of Firefox shoud have fixed the problem. Be sure you are using the original classic.jar [essential!!] (if you replaced it with the one from some of the other ports). (I personally think they shoud switch over to this typy of file.)

SP4 for Win2000, then .Net Framework 1.1 is a good way to get the most from W2K. (I'm recomending upgrading)

Did you do this? (from the first page) "(this is assuming you already installed compact menu(for firefox))"

To have it all on one bar right click\customize and drag everything to the top bar. Then viewmenu\ uncheck nav bar.

Then checkmark bookmark toolbar.

#123451

I'ts not required, lol! No I don't know why you have probs with the tabs. I havn't had a 2000 computer to test it on. No one else has had that or said they have.
