Aqua-Soft ForumsMy mom got a new PC, and the speakers are VERY quite on her computer, i have tried asjusting the volume in the control panels and the taskbar icon... works but very quiet. The speakers worked very well on my computer...

is it in general or during playing only cd's, only movies, etc
i doubt it's the speakers. check all your settings in the volume properties, e.g. wav, etc. also check soundcard properties and the actual program volumes.
Make shure the plug is pluged all the way in. Many times it will jsut be halfway plugged in and the sound will go way dow. Also make shure its plugged into the right jack. Why dont you try the jack with a pair of headphones to make shure its not the speakers.
Well I hope youre not trying to plug them into the line out of your sound card. If you are you will get low volume, buy a cheap amp to place between the speakers and the sound card. Or if the sound card has speaker out plug them into there.
And if you do plug the speakers straight into the Line-Out, dont leave them in for long periods, you could damage the components on your sound card, this is because a speaker acts as a dead short, where as headphones dont.
Your best bet is to buy a small amp. Or you could get a PC speaker which has an amplifier built in and has a headphone out. Then open the case up and de solder the resistors thats in curcit of the headphone out socket and solder in some joints where the resistors were, a non braded cable should do the job. This will change the amplified headphone out to an amplified line out socket for the speakers. I did this with my apple Pro Speakers, and they work fine. 
The above only applies to speakers if they havent got a built in amplifier.

Do they happen to be JBL Creaure Speakers? You have to make shure the left and right sattelite and power jacks are tuned the right way and plugged all the way into the sub
is it plugged into the speaker socket or the line out? it has happened to me that line out outputs very dim sound (can sound be dim???)
Also, in
Control Panel -> Sounds and Au... -> Advanced
Click Options -> Properties and check all the boxes, make sure wave is turned up, as well as master volume.
Got it fixed, had to turn up the equalizer in the driver control panel...
