I read somewhere that you had to format your iPod in someway so that you Winamp can detect or something... Gaaaah, I can't even follow myself!

Nope - as long as it's setup for windows, and you enable 'let windows see the pod as a mass storage device' then it works fine

All you have to do is point winamp at the right drive letter
