It's not his desktop, obviously... since he's asking for those things in there...

Anyway, your questions... I'd do a little guessing.

1. Browser: Very likely Mozilla Firebird.

2. Dock: Probably MobyDock.

3. Foobar Player.

4. It's XP.

I think its uptime, and could be really easily be done in samurize like that (unless it has some animations that ofcourse cant be seen in that screenshot :D ).

Well, usually screenshots aren't considered as art, so it's not really braking the "rules". You're the first person I've seen to complain about this.

It really annoys me when people claim proprietary rights for something as stupid as screenshots!

Panther IT'S A COMMUNTY!

the whole point of which is that we all aspire to a common cause. We do things for each other without asking for recompense and for the benefit of the community as a whole.

When you show a screenshot, it shouldn't just be to say: "Look what I've got", it should be something more like:

"Fellow COMMUNITY members, this is what i've got, if you gain anything from looking at this screenshot, my goal has been achieved, use this for the benefit of the community, i'm going off to have a coke and a smile now, THANK YOU."

If you are serious about needing permission to show your screenshots then I don't know what to say to you, I'm just sad that you show no COMMUNITY spirit and that you feel this way :(

We need some sort of Community Membership Charter that people must acknowledge before being able to become a members of this fine COMMUNITY!

If we take it further, do you have permission of the authors of the icons/ graphics and programs used to post a screen shot in the first place ????

They might not want not post here, there or anywhere picture of their work too.

Simply you have done what you have asked others not to do

@samo

simply arrange your desktop the way you want and press the 'Print Screen' button on your keyboard, then open up a graphics editor such as paint or photoshop and press Control and V together so as to paste them image.

You do not ned permission for these types of things

Just look at the Desktop Screenshots thread. Besides, why would an artist not want someone promoting their work
