Does anyone know a way to make the Windows Explorer make more Aqua? A prefer a program but if u have tweaked sys. files too then thats fine.
Windows Explorer
Hi,
You may want to try WinBrowser also. It's a NextStep style file explorer for Win.
It's available here: WinBrowser
Also, Directory Opus is a *highly configurable* and extremely powerful file explorer for Win. While in it's default configuration is look nothing like OS X's Finder it can, I'm working on it now, be setup to look very close to it.
It's available here: Directory Opus
Peace,

Nice links you two ![]()
grusic, Directory Oplus seems like a really promissing program! When do you think you will be done with your layout for it? I cant wait to see it!
BTW thanks for the links.

ZzP,
You're welcome. I've used DOP off and on for a year now and I really like it.
As for my layout, it's going to take awhile. I'm not really feeling well, I haven't for awhile actually, so I need to rest as much as possible.
All the best,
Grusic

LOL, I used to use DirOpus in it's infancy (V.1) back in my Amiga days.. it's been around forever. It is quite a decent program though ![]()

What's so funny? <_<
Hi Zzp,
Here's a screen shot of the preliminary work I've done on creating a Finder layout for DOpus.

So far, so good! The only real problem I have encountered so far is those huge icons on the toolbar. For some reason DOpus either displays them incredible small or at the same size as my desktop icons.
I will figure out a solution though.
I don't think I'm going for a pure Finder clone for my layout, but more of a blend consisting of Finder, PathFinder/Snax, Directory Opus and Explorer XP.
More info on PathFinder/Snax can be found at About PathFinder , if one cares to look.
Best regards,
Grusic

smeggy,
I'm guessing that the person repsonsible for the statement is not familiar with the program.
Quite frankly I don't see the humour in that. :/
Yeah, im not very familiar with any of these progs and they look pretty cool, so i said that lol.
Grusic, the layout looks pretty nice, can we skin everything in it? your buttons seem to be really big, i wonder if i can make them the same size as normal buttons and i can make the "view as" 3part button thing work from it.
BTW, call me Shak :-), ZzpcpzZ is just my nick

Shak,
The buttons are way larger then I intended them to be. I'm looking into the problem now.
I come across several ways of doing buttons in DOpus.
One involved hacking the programs internal images, not the most pleasent of task.
Also, formats other then *.ico are supported for buttom images, but their transparency is not supported :/
Either way I will choose the method that produces the best results regardless of the labour involved.
As for skinning everything in the program, I don't know yet exactly. I'm still doing my preliminary work. I do know that all toolbars can be skinned though via a background image. I'm trying to find out if non-user defined buttons can be skint.
All the best,
Grusic
Hi all,
Just a little status update of my work with Aquafying DOpus.
I wound up going for the ResHack method as it produces the cleanest results.
As for toolbar being skinned, yes, DOpus does support this. I plan on including an Aqua look as well as a Brushed look for the first result.
I would appreciate it if someone would provide me with some screen shot showing *all* of Finder's filer browser capabilities though.
If anyone has access to CocoaTech's PathFinder, I would appreciate the same from it also.
All the best to you all, because you are,
