Xscope

This is a pretty nice little app from IconFactory that I think would be a great port:

xScope is six tools in one that will help any designer do their job faster and produce more accurate results:

• Rulers - On-screen rulers that measure distances and angles

• Screens - A dynamic view of smaller screen sizes and web browser content areas

• Loupe - A magnifying glass that gives you a close-up view of your work

• Guides - Markers for precise horizontal and vertical alignment

• Frames - Markers for precise width, height & origin alignment

• Crosshair - Finds the exact location on screen

It seems like it would be an awfull lot of work to port. Expecialy for how much it would be used, i dont see anything particular functionable in there. Coding weird stuff like that is a bear. Besides we can do preaty much everything already, ie magnifing glass included in accesablity for windows, you can just take a screenshot and paste into photoshop (which you would probaly end up doing anyhow) to find pixel distances. What would you ever need a angle for ? :canadian: unless if you neded to calculate the electromagnetic force between two icons had they been electrons.

But I agree to be honest. There is certainly limited use, and what people would gain would be minimal.

Whoa - it would be cool to have a port of Pixadex - That looks like a very nice app

Heheh, it is a very nifty program with the increasing number of sets available!! (blame Spydercfs)

I really dont see the point of xscope anyway, i can do most of the stuff with a prtscr and then pasting it in Photoshop...

I guess you're right. I was just taken in by the sweet little screenies. All of these functions are either already at our fingertips or of little use anyway. Pixadex on the other hand would be nicer, and I'll chip in another $10 to the developer.
