It took longer than it should have, but I had trouble with creating the x-+ graphics for the brushed version. Max Rudberg helped me out once again with his resources.

MaxVLC is a port of Max Rudberg's VLC for OSX' default GUI in brushed and milk versions. That's right! Now, both versions are included. The only thing you need to do is swap out the XML configurations to suit your mood. (I decided to release it as one as only a few changes are required to finish the brushed look.)

Please read the documentation, as there are some new abbreviations used to name the various configurations.

The 20 configs are basically to determine which button down states, left/right x-+ placement, etc.

PS. I'll be contacting a Moderator to delete the other thread if they see fit as this release supercedes it.

Yes, what you need to do is open up the XML file and search for 192. Replace it with 255 and you're good to go.

how is it possible? the MaxVlc skins uses the old Vlc interface Skins(with .bmp files and a specified XMl), not more compatible whit the latest Vlc Player release 0.81(that suppoort only the new Skin2 interface with png) , maybeu are using the old 0.72 vlc?

OMG great. just a little question: me using vlc 8.1 and ur skin will not stay as default one. so when i close and reopen vlc i´m back to the default skin and not ur. what am i missing?

EDIT: ah, found it. changed from standard to skinable interface in preferences. bang!

great news, finally released !! but i still don't understand , as like a "skinning" mode for vlc, winfx and other kind of shadows "refuse" to add a shadow to the skin interface (only with addshadow should be but is really unusable because the lags ) .

So looking the new interface i see that support PNG instead BMP, i was trying to add a shadow to Background.png borders but it seem doesn't support semi-trasparecy of pngs, it seems to follow the standard rules of normal Bmp..

any suggestion?
