I would like to install a faster processor. prefforablely a Pentium 3 850Mhz.
Has anyone attempted this? HP doesnt give a whole hell of a lot of information about the upgrade, or any tips on doing the upgrade. Do I need a new fan? I have a celeron 533 on Slot 370 Now.
And can anyone reccomend an OS to take full advantage of the processor. I like DOS prefferably

You cant put a pentium in a celeron board.
The most you could do is a higher celeron, maybe. In the end, it would be cheaper to get a new PC.
Did you try searching HP's support site?
In a matter of seconds, I found about 10 articles that might be of interest (enter "Pavilion 6635" in the Product box, and "CPU" in the keywords box).
Of most interest, though, would be this:
"HP Pavilion PC - HP Pavilion 6600, 8600, and 9600 Series Upgrading the CPU"

The board isn't a Celery board, Contra, it's a proper PIII board, with a Celery in it.
Also, based on the aforementioned page, I think the highest CPU you could put in would be a PIII 800 with 100MHz FSB.
