My second mac? I'd rub it in the first time i got one, cuz it'd be a big step against microsoft. But getting a second one doesn't feel as good. Plus no one cares, cuz you've already switched. Its like getting a second windows. Wow, its a new computer, but its not as exciting.
I don't know if i'd rub it in or not, as i have never had the pleasure of having 1 mac, let alone 2. <_<

Why does everything have to be against Microsoft? I myself use an iBook when I go to MS conferences, because of the long battery life and good wireless connectivity. None of the MS guys there complain that I'm using an Apple, so why can't you be as mature and not complain about MS?
@ Matthias, congrats 
iBooks rock, especially if you've got an AirPort card installed. If you've got cash to spend though, you might want to see if you can get hold of a good quality second hand G4 Cube
They're awesome boxes, and easily upgradeable. Trying to get one myself at the moment, but other purchases (cars, Dual Xeons, a 15-tonne APC, etc) have gotten in the way.

Agreed. We all hate Microsoft's awful economic policies and horrible business tactics, but let's not make everything go around that fact. No one forces you to like Microsoft, so simply don't.

Got my 12" iBook from my friend today.
Sitting at work and having a Mac in the PC dominated world is a God-send.
Not that I'm against M$ (gave me job), but to have a different OS beside me at work is refreshing. That all all my co-employees are "wow-ed" by its beauty. Its as powerful as my G4 Desktop by a long shot, but its size, 12" is sooooooo convinient. It draws no attention by my bosses, and its unique designs doesn't appear "threating" either (I mean plugging into our network, possible virus', or a distraction).
So for anybody thinking of switching, in this Switch it up! forum, I recommend this tiny, useful friend. I thought anything smaller than 14" would be rough to use, I was so wrong. I'm convinced that anything bigger than 14" is too big for a lap now. 12" is plenty and very mobile.
As for people in the requests above:
C'mon, if you're a real lover of Tech. any OS is great. M$ definately has its pluses/minus', as do a Mac, Linux, Unix, etc. etc. All are great in their own right. I'm sick of M$ products cause that's my schooling and job (and securities, and domination etc. etc.), but hey, most of us wouldn't have a job had it not been for them. Its all good peeps. Thank goodness Aqua-Soft helped my close mind open up to Open Systems and Macs.

I agree. At my home office I have my PC and my iBook 14"... And it's refreshing to see a new and better OS right besides me.
Oh, and I'm about to buy my second Mac too... a Mac Classic II from 1991! Just paid 10 USD for it! And yes, it DOES work! It doesn't have HDD, but hey, who wants it anyway?
You know what the big question for me is though? Why have a system if you hate it. If you have both a Mac and a PC and you love your Mac and hate your PC, why not sell your PC and use the money to upgrade your mac.
People who use PC's and complain about it are like a person walking into a resteraunt and complaining about the food while they are eating it and coming back for more.
I truly think that if you don't like something, if you are unhappy with it. Then you need to stop using it. But I don't think that it's good to rub peoples face in your personal preference.
Because I get virtually nothing from selling my PC, and it's still useful to some extent. For example, to leave it all day downloading stuff, testing MenuetOS, fiddling with Linux...
Don't get me wrong. I like PCs. I just don't like Windows.
just wanna note to my friends here taht i am a MCSE+MCSA and at the office i have a sloooowww DellGX150 which weighs in at 1ghz, AND i also have a sporty high end G4 as well. I shock my system manager when he sees me doing more Windows 2000 admin stuff on my MAC more than my Windows PC. i have figured ways to get most of my stuff going plus i luv to script in pearl so my MAC is solid. I have a high end P4 at home, and a few servers, but i am really really really thinkin of purchasing me a G5 real soon. jus need a tiny bit more motivation to complete my order on Apples site. i already have a iPod plus it looks good on my resume that i know OS X, RedHat 9 an win xp. after the Mac its off to the wonderful world of Solaris....blahhh

At work, it does help to have the Unix based experience on the resume. That and I did manage to grab the attention of my peers, now they know I'm taking Unix a bit more seriously, (at least thats the excuse I'm giving them )

Well, actually, my iBook's battery seems to have problems too. When fully charged, according to Panther, I have 3 hours of battery life (When according to apple, it should be 6). But as I start using it, the meter goes to 2:20... Then goes to 3:40, and so on.
So, since I use it at home, I just keep it plugged in. ^^;
